Carol was a fantastic instructor. She was extremely patient and knowledgable. She had some great ideas as we brainstormed together. She was very helpful in my struggles with sewing zippers and pillowcases. Though I've been sewing for more than thirty years, she helped me get over some obstacles. She also taught me some tricks with my sewing machine. I highly recommend her for any sewing instruction or sewing project. Thank you Carol and thumbtack for finding her!!!!

Chris Bristow is a great artist. His singular vision, challenging themes, deep knowledge of the history of art, and consummate skills as a draughtsman and painter set him head and shoulders above his peers. Moreover, he is friendly, courteous, professional, and a ton of fun to be around. I recommend him unreservedly.

I have taken group and individual classes from Stephanie, as well as observe her teaching, and she is an amazing teacher, for both adults and children. She explains the process throughly and makes it easy to follow each step. She is just so good at what she does and it has been such a joy knowing her and learning from her. She is an amazing artist!

Charles is one of my favorite teachers! He explains difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand and apply. He goes out of his way to help his students and caters to their individual needs while simultaneously motivating them to improve. I always felt determined to get better and work harder when I was in his classes, without feeling stressed out. He was always there outside of class when I had questions for him and was open to helping me with in class projects as well as personal and side projects. He is also totally honest straight forward. I'd definitely recommend Charles to anyone who wants to learn strong foundational drawing and painting skills.

Minhoca Art painted an incredible mural of a lion on my living room wall. The artist worked with me to decide on an image and then painted the image quickly and beautifully. I really appreciated how the artist listened to my preferences for the image while also giving advice based on her experience.

If you feel your child has a creative touch or want to try to teach them to be creative, I will teach and work with your child(ren) to make fun and exciting arts and crafts projects that they're almost guaranteed to while also having a blast. I spearheaded and ran a very successful dad's n kid's after-school social club at my son's elementary school in 2007 and 2008. I started with just a few dads and their kids, and at the end of the second year, we were over 200 strong!

About

My name is Courtney Lynn Chandler, and I am a student in my Junior year at Metro State University. I am studying art and psychology, in pursuit of a career in Art Therapy. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the creative and expressive arts, and the calming, healing qualities they bring to those who seek it. Having gone through a dark time in my own life many years ago, I was able to overcome anxiety and depression through painting, drawing, and yoga. Practicing yoga helped me learn how to breath deeply, and find peace within my body and mind. The anxiety dissipated and I gained a new freedom. I have had the pleasure of meeting many people who shared their stories with me--people who suffered from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, among other things--who found that yoga was an excellent stress-relieving practice that changed their lives. The common thread that many people have (myself included), who practice yoga, found it helped them learn how to cope with their stress in healthy ways. Empowerment and transformation are possible through yoga, and I believe these are just a few of the benefits. As my love for yoga grew, I wanted to learn how to teach so I could spread the joy to others. I completed my 200 hour teacher training in December 2013, and am so grateful to be able to guide others through their practice of empowerment, love and light, through yoga. I focus on deep breathing exercises, and guide students through a motivational theme of focus with each fun, relaxing and empowering yoga class. Namaste! In addition to yoga, I also provide art classes to focus on creative expression. I facilitate art projects that fully empower you to get creative and express yourself in a fun, relaxing and artistic way. Challenge yourself to be inspired and connect with your inner artist! Art is powerful, beautiful and all around magical. I offer workshops which helps you tap into this expressive form of "creative play".
