CTLS was the low bidder for the trimming of a large ash and a spruce. The ash required extensive trimming due to dead branches and broken limbs from the late spring snow. I had spoken with Kevin and told him it would need to be heavily trimmed. The crew arrived timely and I described what needed to be done. About two hours in Kevin arrived and immediately said that he did not bid the correct amount for the worked expected. It was more work than he bid. Ultimately he agreed to complete the work for the bid amount. Dispite paying an additional amount as a gesture of conciliation for the work required, I was disappointed with the overall job. When I inspected the job there was debris everywhere, from the street to the ash in the rear. There were also numerous dead spots in the grass under the tree apparently from gasoline dripping from the chainsaw used to trim the tree. There was also a large dead spot in the grass were the crew must have sprilled gas while refueling. In addition, there were still many dead branches left untrummed in the ash. I feel that as soon as I left, the job was quickly wrapped up with a speedy and less than thorough, cleanup performed. I will not be using CTLS for future trimming.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common types of jobs we complete for clients are tree removals, shrub removals, stump grinding, tree trimming, and shrub trimming.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The best advice I would give is for a customer to spend an extra 10 minutes researching the companies they are hiring; are they on the cities forestry website as a licensed tree contractor and do they have current liability and worker's compensation insurance.
