Easily the best choice I made for training my dog. Allison is very professional and takes her job very seriously. You can tell she has a true passion for this profession.Apr 9, 2018Verified
Could not have asked for a better experience with Rogue Foothill Dog Training. The owner Allison's communication was incredible as she sent me daily texts and photo updates of my dog's progress. Their training is effective and I highly recommend for anyone searching for dog training/boarding.Apr 12, 2018Verified
Allison was able to take my dog Lady from being totally aggressive with other dogs, to being... fine. In an afternoon. I had never seen anything like it from Lady. My mind was blown. She gave me tips on how to keep her that way outside of training, too, which was just as valuable.Jul 1, 2017
After spending some time with Allison and my dog Summit I realized Allison was training me, but it was Summit that got the treats! Figuring out how to communicate with your dog is key and Allison successfully showed me how to do that! After just a few sessions with Allison, Summit and I are so much more responsive to each other and not only does he listen to me incredibly well, but I also to him 🐾♥️Sep 23, 2017
Rogue Foothill Dog Training continues to provide an incredibly positive experience for both myself and my dog. Allison is punctual, professional and proficient. In addition to working effectively with my dog, she has been patient and readily available to advise me on various scenarios outside of training sessions. It is obvious that training dogs is a passion of Allison's. She is dedicated to teaching skills and strategies to both myself and my dog, in an effort to create a happy, healthy relationship. Allison's facilities are of high quality and we feel confident using RFDT services and recommending them to other dog lovers. 5 stars for Rogue Foothill Dog Training and 5 stars for Allison.Jun 26, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Training sessions are fixed prices per one dog training session. Training sessions are typically 45 minutes to an hour, but if it ends up being an hour and a half - its the same fee. Why? Dogs, like their owners, are individuals with learning styles and personalities. It's important to work with a dog/handler team with specific training goals in mind for each session. Keeping our meetings fun, engaging, and successful are keys to fast-track training. We'll start our training session with a goal in mind, do some exercises and drills to help the dog understand the desired behavior and look for a successful and positive place to end the session - even if that means spending a little extra time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? If we are meeting for the first time or for the first time in a while, the first step in the training process is an evaluation. After the evaluation we'll discuss a personalized training program for your dog that will include behaviors to be address, skills to be trained, timelines and homework for you to do with your dog at home between sessions. Evaluation process: After greeting you and your pup we'll take a walk. Dogs form bonds on walks - its the best way to get to know you and your dog and see you work as a team in action. We'll talk about your pup's personality, their household habits, playmates, routines, any behaviors you'd like to see in your dog or any behaviors you'd like your dog to stop doing. After our walk we'll make a training plan to include topics we've discussed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Experience is the best teacher. I have worked along side veterinarians and skilled dog trainers who have taught me the fundamentals of dog behavior, behavior modification, classical conditioning, operant conditioning, positive reinforcement, socialization, and learning theory. I also love the canine games and specialization that goes into working with a dog on the Good Canine Citizen Test, fly ball, agility, service based training and therapy dog certifications.
