Electrical and Wiring Repair
Our oven kept shutting off because it kept tripping the breaker. We had McColl Electrical come out and take a look and they said it was nothing with our house, but something wrong with our oven. We replaced our oven and the problem still persists. Now we are out $600 and a big bill from McColl. Such a bummer. Have to hire a new electrician. You should too.Sep 18, 2019VerifiedMcColl Electrical Services, LLC.'s reply
Devon - I am very sorry that you were dissatisfied with the service. I do however feel that clarification of this review is warranted. When you contacted me, I told you exactly what you would be charged for the service. I quoted you our service fee as well as the charges for the diagnostic. Because of this, I was surprised when you contacted me following the service to question the charges which matched what you were quoted to the dollar. Despite this, my stance is ALWAYS that customer satisfaction is more important than money, therefore I never re invoiced you for the charges. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our services, however this can only be extended to paying customers. You do not have a "big bill" from McColl Electrical Services, LLC. As a matter of fact, you were not re invoiced and have paid us nothing. If the issue was incorrectly diagnosed and you had paid for the services, we would have made the necessary repairs at no additional expense to you. This however is not the case. You did not pay for the services we provided and never gave us any opportunity to work to rectify the situation before posting a negative review.

Our power went off Thursday night. I requested the services thru Thumbtack and within 20 minutes I received a response from McColl Electrical. He worked his schedule around and was able to look at our problem at 8am the next morning. He was punctual and diagnosed the problem quickly. His expertise and professionalism is refreshing. I can not say enough about a horrible experience saved by this company. Thank you McColl Electrical. I can easily say you are the best in townAug 19, 2018Verified

Circuit Breaker Panel or Fuse Box Installation
John did a great job of upgrading my panel from 150-amps to 200-amps as well as reviewing electrical work that I had done on my own. My project was unique because I was doing all of the internal wiring and he was doing the panel upgrade in my garage finish project. With John's help, we were upgraded, passed inspection, and powered back on in one day.Mar 27, 2019Verified
Buying a house was stressful enough, but finding out the inspector missed critical things made it worse. I called McColl Electrical Services, LLC to quote a ton of projects. John was very helpful, explained issues, gave me some options and took on my long list of work. I am impressed with the quality of work and his professionalism! I would never trust something as important as wiring/electrical work to anyone else!Aug 13, 2018

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am not the most expensive company, but I am also not the cheapest. My prices are structured to give the best value to my customers. Thus value comes from using higher quality materials and standing behind all of my work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically, I meet with the customer and go over the project with them. They explain what they are hoping for and I discuss options with them to meet these goals. I then provide a comprehensive estimate for the proposed work. Once work begins, I work closely with my customers so they understand how the job is going and update them continuously on job progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I completed a 4 year apprenticeship as well as 4 years of college to get my journeyman's license. I then completed another 2000 hours to get my Master's license. In order to receive these licenses, I had to complete testing at the state level.
