Arbor Tutors helped both my son and my daughter with test prep as well as AP exams. Phenomenal.
Nicole was outstanding! She helped our son raise his composite ACT score from a 20 to a 27 in only 7 weeks! As a senior, this was our son's last chance to raise his ACT score. Prior to the April test, we had enrolled him in 16 weeks of group classes; His math score only increased 1 point and reading increased 2. In less than half the time and for about half the money, Nicole helped AJ increase math by 7, reading and science by 8, and English by 5. She tailored the lessons to AJ's background and learning style. Her approachable manner and disarming personality immediately put AJ at ease -making it easier for him to learn. Nicole made herself available to answer questions at ALL times, day or night, which was unbelievably helpful! She is extraordinarily knowledgeable about both the ACT and new SAT. Regarding the entire college application process, she is a wealth of information and advice! We were so lucky that she was able to fit AJ into her packed schedule, and we will be forever grateful for everything she did for him and us!
Tyler is very patient and knowledgeable when tutoring math. He has helped my daughter better understand the principles when using geometry. He has been a great help in getting her ready for the SAT.
Minnie was very responsive and helped us get the best tutor within the time constraints we presented to her. We are very happy with the service Peak Performance provided for SAT prep.
Mrs Walters had been tutoring my 10year old son during summer camp on math he incressed by 20% in that time of camp. I feel Mrs Walters is great with tutoring she has a great deal of patients in working with kids...she's a hard worker really dedicated in her career. Great personallity keep up the good work, Mrs Walters is working with my son currently individually I hope to see him improve this semester.
Gary has been a tutoring resource for two of our high schoolers for about a year. They like his calm and kind manner and request sessions with him regularly. He has been able to help with a variety of math levels on a flexible schedule - even last-minute test prep!
My daughter initially wanted some assistance with ACT prep. After our first round of working with Marc, we immediately sought him out to assist her with SAT prep! He is amazing and is able to tailor his tutoring for the student.
Dan is a very helpful, concerned math, physics, chemistry, and ACT tutor. Whether its homework, test prep, or just review Dan always knew his stuff and was always ready to answer and help me with all of my subjects. I have aced many tests and felt much more prepared for the ACT because of him. I would recommend him for both one on one and group sessions for all grades in high school.
Alex was incredibly helpful and knowledgable! He made ACT prep interesting and was very professional. I was able to raise my score by 6 points with his help!
David is excellent at connecting with teens and engages my son well. He has helped my son improve his understanding of pre-calc, AP calc as well as prepare for the math portions of the SAT. He knows how to balance focus and productive use of time with relationship building and engagement.
We are pleased to provide a reference for Colleen Urban. Colleen tutored our daughter, Julia, at Basic Skills Tutoring in Seattle while Julia was in middle school and high school at The Northwest School (2006-2011). Colleen began as a math tutor but her role expanded, to providing help in organization, study skills, time management, and test preparation. Julia benefitted enormously from the assistance and counsel that Colleen provided. She helped Julia tackle algebra, geometry and calculus, as well as preparing for physics, chemistry, and biology exams. Colleen was always patient but firm with Julia. Their relationship was close and friendly. Julia never complained about going to tutoring and looked forward to her time with Colleen. As well as attending a challenging college prep school, Julia was a serious ballet dancer. Her after-school hours were often taken up with classes and rehearsals. Colleen was very flexible—always finding some time for Julia, even if it meant staying late—when she needed it. Colleen made a lasting impact on Julia’s life and academic career. Julia graduated from Bennington College, with a 3.8 GPA in 2015. She was extraordinarily successful in college and has made a great transition to life after college. Last year, she taught in a French high school. This year she is writing poetry as well as working full-time as she prepares to apply to graduate school. She tackles difficult projects with discipline and enthusiasm. She has the confidence to work independently and the patience to deal with the inevitable frustration that results from challenging herself. These were qualities that Colleen saw in Julia and worked hard to bring to the forefront. For this assistance and support, we continue to be very grateful to Colleen.
We loved our experience with Omega's SAT and ACT Test Prep program. Our son's SAT score increased over 200 points and his ACT score improved 5 points over his most recent test result. They had him take an assessment and said he would do better on the SAT than the ACT. They were correct and he now has a better chance of getting in the school he hopes to attend. They were very flexible with his schedule and we love the tutors and staff.
Kaitlyn is great with kids! I sat in on my son's first tutoring session and she worked with him very well - he came out of his shell because of her interactive and fun tutoring. He also got the highest grade on a test in the particular subject she tutored him in. Highly recommend!
Carrie helped my daughter prepare for her SAT retest and we are very excited about the results. She really understood the test rather than just teaching random skills for high school.
Don is a professional, courteous, and nice tutor.
I offer reading, writing, and test prep tutoring services to all ages. After graduating with honors from Lesley University with an M.Ed. in English Education, I worked for three years as an English teacher. During this time, I taught English 8, English 10, English 12, AP Language & Composition, Creative Writing, and SAT Reading & Writing. I also taught after school and weekend SAT Prep sessions. I am a licensed educator for English 8-12 in both Massachusetts and Texas. I also hold a supplementary license in special needs education in Texas. Additionally, I have experience working with both special needs students and English language learners. I left teaching when my husband's job moved us to Colorado and we decided to have a baby. I've been working as a freelance writer and editor for over a year. However, I miss working with students and am looking to expand my services into tutoring.
I'm a graduate student of engineering with over three years in tutoring students of all ages. I have a proven success in teaching prealgebra, Algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, geometry, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, microbiology, and statistics.
Simply put, I am a higher caliber tutor than others. I am a high-performance student myself, having graduated in the top 10% of my class with numerous awards and scholarships. I mastered math, science, economics, and the humanities with A grades in all. Now I'm a law student, which separates me from the typical tutor you find on Craigslist-- a kid one year older than your student who likes to do calculus. I consider myself a professional who will help your student reach their goal in a systematic way.
I have been teaching SAT/ACT/GRE prep for over 10 years and have successfully helped over 1000 students earn higher scores. I am adept at pattern recognition when evaluating student's tests thus allowing us to concentrate our efforts most efficiently. I have a gregarious and friendly teaching style that invites questions and conversations. I freely admit when I am wrong and can laugh at my own mistakes. I empathize with my students and celebrate their successes.
