Chris installed a door on a very un-level slab. He came out to quote the job. He came up with several options, weighted them against my needs and found a solution that would fit best. Great communication. Efficient work. Great job.

We had recently purchased a home where the previous owners converted the garage into a flex room, however they kept the still functional garage door. We reached out to a few companies for estimates. Chris, owner of the Carpenters had the best quote and he seemed very knowledgable of the task. They did a phenomenal job removing the garage door and replacing it with drywall and insulation, then bricking the exterior to match the rest of our brick home. The job was completed in about 7 days. He even built custom bookshelves on the interior of the new wall. We love it!

I contracted Chris to help build a pretty sizeable doghouse for our two dogs. Chris was quick to respond with a quote and the price was great. The doghouse was fantastic, built to last with everything we asked for (including insulated walls and heated tile floor). Would have given 5 stars except the price did go up after the initial estimate. Well worth the price we paid in the end and I would happily do business with Chris again!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been a builder and carpenter my whole life. As a young man I learned as much I could, and have had many years of education in my field. I learned carpentry in high school through a vocational school and construction management in college.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice is to find a builder that is trusted.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

In general, building from the ground up will be easier then a remodel. When building from scratch, there is a fresh palette however, with remodels, you never know how something was built 5yrs ago, 20yrs ago, or even 100yrs ago until you open up the walls or floors and discover it. Because of this, when an estimate is made for a remodel, there's more grey to what the end cost might be.
