HOME RUN! Thanks again Mike and your team Will and Russell! I hired your company after hearing moving horror stories and you reassured me that good guy's still existed and you were right! Your movers were on time and very professional! They eased the stress and worked very hard for the entire move! We will be calling you again soon for our cabin move! Again, thank you! Nancy

We are so thrilled with Melodia's service!! We were looking for someone to help us keep up with the house cleaning once a month and she does a fantastic job every time. It's like Christmas morning coming home after she's cleaned. "Ooo, look at the fridge!" "Did you see the shower?!" My husband and I really appreciate the care she beings to each room; everything is picked up and organized, beds made, magazines stacked, and even the junk tray is tidied up. With two little ones, we just aren't able to keep up with the dusting and wet mopping. Such a relief to have found Melodia! Highly recommend!

Leslie took all of the furniture I already had in my home and rearranged it to create a much warmer and inviting environment. I consider myself a very creative person, but I never would have thought to arrange my belongings in the way Leslie did. She is so incredibly talented in this way. My space now feels full of love and warmth and I can’t wait to have people over. It is crazy how something as simple as furniture rearranging and organizing can have such a profound psychological impact. I truly do believe your home is a direct reflection of your mind. When my house was in shambles it was easy to feel like my mind was also. Now that my space feels so relaxing and comforting, my mind feels so much more at peace. Thank you, thank you, thank you Leslie; you are one of the best people I have ever known. If you live in the Fort Collins area and feel like your home could use sprucing up, please contact Leslie VanDerven. You seriously won’t regret it!

Patra helped us with our home in Wash Park - she was not only helpful with decor and design choices, but she worked with us on finding contractors to get the job done RIGHT, not just cheap and fast. She was very flexible with her time, meeting our schedules, and checked in with us frequently and appropriately during the entire process. We are very happy to have worked with her, and looking back after 6 months in our new home we are even happier with the results!

I had Jim completely renovate my home. He put in hard flooring throughout the entire house and stairway, knocked out a partial wall to my kitchen, painted the entire house, got rid of the old popcorn ceiling and more. From the beginning to the end, Jim was always easy to contact and he communicated very effectively. I arrived in Fort Collins on the day he finished and we did a walk through. My jaw just dropped as he showed me all the new updates. He went above and beyond and really made sure everything was done perfectly. He started and finished on time and stayed within my budget. I am constantly getting compliments on all of the renovations. I will be sure to contact him again when I have my next big project. Thank you, Jim for such a wonderful experience and working with me even though I was out-of-state the entire time.

100% SUPPORT ARTEMIS!!!! Not only are the easy to work with, every single showing I have had, the one consistent response is that the home is staged beautifully! And they were the most cost effective option. But the most important reason why I highly recommend Artemis is th personal touch. When I first hired them they were the most responsive and quickest to get the home decorated. I had my home staged, went under contract and then had Artemis come pick up the furniture and decorations. 3 days before closing the buyers bailed out on my contract and the house had already been emptied. I was so upset and needed to get the home back on the market asap. I sent a text on a Sunday afternoon in a panic and on Monday and Tuesday (or within 48 hours tops) I had the home completely re-decorated....I have never worked with anyone with so much heart and understanding. I promise, this will be the best experience from quality, cost and personal service...you are crazy not to use Artemis!!!! I have a small bungalow in Wash Park and just relisted so you can see more pictures form Beth and her teams amazing work here: https://www.trelora.com/homes/CO/c/Denver/p/665_s_sherman_st-denver-80209-co

Recently purchased our first home and it's safe to say that when our realtor showed us the property we were blown away by the comforting, modern look and feel of the space. I was wondering about some of the furniture chosen and our realtor divulged her secret. Turns out it was the work of Shay Kent and Zoe Homes. All of the rooms were so inviting and stylish, we ended up hiring Shay and her team to do our home once we moved in. Shay is a very approachable professional who will work with you in order to get the right cozy conception. I highly recommend Shay and Zoe Homes for anyone needing to update their home's look.

My mother and I were looking to furnish my first home. We visited many stores all over Denver and met different designers but just were not satisfied with the options we were presented. Then we met Kristy! Her passion, energy, and ability to understand what design style and furniture I was looking for were the reason we worked with her. Not only did her design skills win us over, we really felt that Kristy was very invested in the process and getting to know us. If you are looking for a talented and trustworthy designer - it’s Kristy Smith!

After recently moving into a new home, I hired Kathy for living room design and for a paint color consult. Kathy is amazing. She is very warm and personable, and she took the time to get to know me and understand my style. I was new to the area, and Kathy drove me to several design centers to shop for furnishings. She had creative ideas to make my living area functional and comfortable. I am so happy I used Kathy’s services and I highly recommend her.

This was our first experience in working with a designer, and I don't know if this is always the case, but we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Meg is creative and enthusiastic with a keen eye for color and design, and she took time to figure out our style and preferences. We remodeled the main floor of our house, and once she had a sense about our taste, Meg provided us lots of choices for anything from furniture to rugs to flooring to color scheme throughout our home. All of our friends are amazed with our "new" house! Meg simplified what would have been an otherwise overwhelming project. She was extremely responsive and easy to work with. We wholeheartedly recommend Meg to others and would definitely use her again when we decide to remodel other parts of our home!

Derek was an invaluable asset to my home buying experience. As a first time homebuyer, I had numerous questions about every step and Derek never hesitated to walk through my question and make sure I fully understood everything. He also educated me on what to look for and select a lender. Those in Denver know how competitive the market is and Derek helped craft an offer to ensure I got the house I wanted. He is highly knowledgeable about real estate in Colorado and is very professional, I would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase or sell a home.

I have been a consumer of Sparrow Home’s services for several years. Sparrow Home folks have driven me to and from countless medical appointments and outpatient surgeries and always handle my walking disability with ease and kindness. I have had Sparrow Home workers hang artwork in my house, change ceiling light bulbs and furnace filters, pick up Rxs at my pharmacy, and organize my kitchen cupboards. Most recently, Sparrow Home organized my fairly large craft room - a job I could never have accomplished on my own. Sparrow Home workers are kind, knowledgeable, hardworking and honest. My life is so much less stressful because I know with a phone call or email I can get whatever help I might need. I highly recommend Sparrow Home for all of the caring and professional services it provides.

About

I'm a retired general contractor of 40 years. I will install windows, doors, sidings, and roofs. I can also build you a new garage or additions. There's no job that's too small. I offer discounts on labor for those who are over 65 years old and disable veterans.

About

I am an HSR certified home stager and redesigner. HSR is one of the top accredited home staging and redesign education programs in the country. I have a BS degree in interior design from Colorado State University, and am also a member of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners. I offer consultations for home staging and redesign, staging for occupied and vacant houses, new listing consultations, home makeovers and redesign, color consultations, new construction staging, quick staging for photo shoots, half-day or full-day home staging and redesign services, furniture and accessory rentals, hourly rate plans for design shopping services, and I offer hourly services as needed. My clients love my use of color and proportion and how quickly I can transform their home. Helping the homeowner and the Realtor stage a home is a worthwhile investment because the cost of staging for a quick sale is always less expensive than reducing the price of the home. At First Impressions Home Staging, we will emphasize the positives of your home and will downplay the less marketable features. We can make simple recommendations for the "do-it-yourselfer" or take away the stress and handle it all.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does it mean to stage a home?

Home staging is the real estate strategy of decorating your home to be as marketable as possible to your target demographic. Home staging is done by interior decorators and other design pros hired by the homeowner or realtor, prior to putting a house on the market. Think of it as setting the stage for potential buyers to fall more easily in love with their future homes — and to spend top dollar to get them. It’s likely to be worth the investment: The Real Estate Staging Association reports that staged homes spend 90 percent less time on the market than those that are not staged. Home stagers can also be hired even if you’re not going anywhere. Stagers can consult on new layouts for your current home, much like an interior decorator.

Home staging can take place while you still occupy the house you plan to sell, or when the home is vacant. For an occupied home, the home stager will clear out clutter, rearrange furniture, and bring in decor and furniture as needed to create the perfect environment. Usually an occupied home has far too much of the current owner’s personality stamped on it, which makes it hard for prospective buyers to envision themselves living there. A home stager should neutralize and beautify the space. In vacant homes, a home stager will bring in furniture and decor so that potential buyers don’t walk into an empty house, which can be equally hard to imagine living in as a cluttered, occupied home.

How much does it cost to stage a home for sale?

Nationally, the price for home staging ranges between $750 and $1,500. The price varies based on how many rooms in the house need staging, whether furniture and decor are needed or the stager can work with the client’s belongings, whether the home is occupied or vacant, and the sale price of the home. Occupied homes typically cost less to stage as they are already furnished, and can require less time and resources than staging an empty house. The main tasks when staging an occupied home are rearranging and decluttering. Staging an empty house can be more expensive as furniture and decor need to be trucked in, requiring transportation, physical labor and potential rental fees. Here are some examples of average home staging costs:

  • 2-hour consultation: $200, includes DIY tips and guidance.
  • 1- to 2-hour consultation and design session: $250, including written report.
    • Additional design consulting: $65 per hour.
  • 8 hours of staging an occupied home: $800.
    • Hands-on staging involving moving furniture, hanging and moving art, and decluttering.
  • Starting price for staging a vacant home could be $2,200.
  • A home stager may charge 1 percent of the home’s selling price.
