Introduction: Thank you for considering Peak Condition! I am a Master Trainer with over 15 years experience, a private studio in Louisville, and love what I do! I have been certified by the American Counsel on Exercise (ACE), as well as Fitness Together. I work with singles and couples regarding weight loss, strength/muscle building, injury rehab, nutrition, emotional issues, and most specialized needs. I am not a drill sergeant type and believe in working with my client as a team. I customize each client's workout, I do not do "cookie cutter" workouts. Several of my clients have been with me from 4-11 years (please see my reviews). I like the fact that I help people. I have a counseling background to empathize, a business background to understand busy schedules, and I actually enjoy what I do! I also mentor younger trainers and get great satisfaction from that as well.

Michael has been my personal trainer for approximately 8 years now. I was referred to him by a close friend who gave him very high marks for both his knowledge and training style - she was dead on in her assessment which is why I have stayed with him all these years. Michael knows a ton about exercise, weight equipment and the human body and with that, has an amazing ability to customize a program to each client. He also knows a great deal about nutrition. I'm no spring chicken (in my early 60's) and my job is incredibly stressful but no matter what state I show up in, Michael has an uncanny ability to help me work off the stress and leave feeling great. He intuitively knows when to push me and when to hold back. While I have plenty of exercise equipment at home, it doesn't hold a candle to the workouts that Michael is able to orchestrates for me. I can't recommend him strongly enough - you owe it to yourself to try a few sessions. Trust me - you'll get hooked and all for the better!

I have been working out with Michael at Peak Condition for six years. Initially my goal was to lose some unwanted weight. Longer term I wanted to achieve and maintain a higher level of fitness and conditioning. With Michael's guidance I have achieved both goals. I have been most impressed with Michael's approach to personal training. The workouts are never "one size fits all", rather they are geared for my individual needs and the results I am trying to achieve. He modifies workouts based on my abilities, pushing me to my limit yet backing off when appropriate. Workouts are constantly varied to keep them from becoming mundane. In addition to providing excellent training services, Michael has also helped me rehabilitate a back injury; altering workouts to both protect and strengthen my back. He has taught me to identify the root cause of the injury and ways to avoid its re-occurrence. I am pleased with the results I have achieved at Peak Condition and would recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for a positive experience with a personal trainer.

When I began working with Michael several years ago, I thought I would see him for just a few sessions. I hoped he would set me up with a fitness plan that I could maintain on my own, as I "couldn't afford" his services long term.  Although Michael was more than willing to meet this request, I soon found his services so valuable that I became determined to find a way to earn a little more so that I could budget for his services.Michael is highly professional and skilled at what he does. He is motivating, supportive, and highly attuned to his clients.  It is a joy to show up for a workout and to know that I will be challenged, and never bored (as workouts are varied considerably week-to-week).  His attunement gives me confidence that he will know when to push, and when to back off. There is never any fear of injury.  Over time I have gained strength, tone, and confidence.   I also find Michael's personality to be delightful; he is intelligent, interesting, and kind. I look forward to every workout, knowing that I will leave feeling better than when I arrived.I highly recommend Michael, and Peak Condition. He is worth every penny.Jane, 53 years old.

In over 8 years of having Michael as my personal trainer he has carefully balanced pushing hard enough and not too hard with my workouts. I have steadily improved overall conditioning throughout my time with him. He is always ready with an encouraging word or suggestion for my fitness goals as well as being a valuable resource on general fitness, diet, and nutrition. Michael is the one that is always there waiting for my early morning workout and that alone makes me climb out of bed to head in to the Gym. If you are looking for a personal trainer and are serious about actually training, I highly recommend Michael.

I've been working with Michael for more than 12 years. He has helped me get through back surgery, open heart surgery, and any number of various and sundry ailments, all with a smile on his face and teamwork with my hurting body that can't be beat. I've had a number of different trainers in my life, but Michael is by far the best. He is a man who cares about his clients' needs, and has no agenda of his own other than to make you the best you can (and want) to be. I recommend him without qualification.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I listen to my customer's goals and don't invest MY ego or my client's ego in the workout process. Each client has different strengths and limitations and I make SURE that the workouts are safe, interesting, and relevant!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have been ACE certified for many years in Personal Fitness Training, have been certified by Fitness Together, have a Master's in Counseling Psychology, and over 12 years experience.
