What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically communicate through email or phone and once they decide to hire me I mail out 2 copies of the contract, one for the client and one they fill out and mail back to me along with the retainer, which is the first payment. I also meet clients at coffee shops for this.
Typically the second payment is due one week before the wedding and the last payment due 2 weeks after the wedding. Most people pay the full amount before the wedding to get it out of the way, this up to you.
We have the wedding day.
It can take one week up to 6 weeks for post editing, depending on the length of the wedding. Portraits usually one week.
I post the final images to the online gallery and then mail out the DVD, or we can meet.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Northern Kentucky University
Bachelor of Arts
Art with emphasis in Photography

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was taking art classes at college and during my first photography class I knew this is what I wanted to do.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with very young brides to older couples. I have done weddings and elopements with just the bride and groom to weddings with over 200 guests. Families with small children to grandparents. I have worked with people living in other states coming to Colorado to be married.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Not to just hire the cheapest photographer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What type of photography are they looking for? I shoot weddings with a documentary/photojournalist style except for the posed group shots.
What is their budget? I am on the lower side of the professional price range. But not in the cheap range.
Do they want one photographer or two? Assistant? I have always worked alone and do not plan on hiring anyone to assist.
Do they have a shot list? This can help the photographer not miss shots you may expect.
