Everything has changed for the better since I met Tara and began pilates, which has been my first experience with it. The positive effects on my body and mind are exceptional, and it’s been more impactful than the other exercise I do. In fact, pilates informs the stuff I do in the gym. I’ve actually reduced the heaviness of weights, but with much better form and mindfulness, I am getting a better workout with less soreness, which I used to think was great (post-gym pain). Same for stair stepper, which was trashing my hips until Tara showed me how to step correctly. I’ve decreased both the speed and time on the stair stepper, but feel stronger and more energized after doing it. The other day in the gym after I got off the stair stepper someone said to me, “You are a machine. I can’t do that for 2 minutes.” But the old boost I would have gotten to my ego didn’t happen. The comment surprised me and prompted me to consider what I want to get out of that activity, and it is not for people to notice me or a feeling that I came off it completely spent. It is interesting to me that my old objectives for exercise have changed a lot and quickly. How I define fitness is morphing away from others’ definitions.to my own. I want to generate and store energy ; I don’t want to deplete myself by working out until I feel sick or come away feeling bad about myself for not running fast like runners I pass on the trail. So this is what is most astounding: the effect pilates has on my mind and spirit. I walk out of a session feeling a foot taller and much healthier. I am more mindful, and things that would normally trigger a reaction now don’t bother me. And I now can really notice it when my posture or activities are hurting my back or neck, and I can stop doing them. I used to believe “no pain, no gain”. One day in a session I realized that I have believed this about every aspect of my life . But is it true? Does something have to hurt to be worthwhile or effective? Tara ensures I avoid pain in a session (even when I want to work “harder” or say pain is “ok”) because there is muscle memory, so to speak, and training our brains to normalize activity-induced pain is counterproductive. Often after a session, my back feels better than it has in my whole life. Sometimes, it doesn’t, and that is okay, too, because it will change again. Tara is much wiser than her years, and seemed to very quickly intuit how my body works as well as my mind. She can always read what is going on with me, and I bet more clearly than I can. Her questions and comments often make me laugh, and reflect on them afterward. Once when I commented that my throat and esophagus were sore from a leg exercise (“What’s my chest got to do with it?”, I demanded), Tara responded with a mischievous chuckle, “What’s my heart got to do with it?” That is now something I ask myself a lot.
I saw Gayle for a few months after a serious car accident and she was instrumental in my recovery. She was very knowledgable and her true intent to help you heal was clear and genuine. I would recommend Gayle for needling, PT and cupping; all therapies she utilized to aid my path to wellness. I have also continued to use her for Pilates which is helping to keep me strong!
Training with Jen is an awesome experience! I used to feel so lost and clueless when I went to the gym and worked out, I never knew what to do or how many reps to do - it was frustrating and overwhelming. But after starting to train with Jen that all changed completely! Training with her has given me more confidence not only in myself but also within the gym atmosphere by learning what kind of exercises to do based on my body and fitness goals - YES! She has also showed me that working out can be fun AND empowering! She pushes me to be my best even when I have nothing left, helps me tap into my full potential, supports me every step of the way in my fitness goals, and inspires me every day. Her enthusiasm, positive attitude, sweet spirit, and high energy are infectious! Its always a fun day when training with her in the way she mixes up what we do each time and throughout each session - whether we work with weights, pilates, resistance bands, machines, yoga balls (and so much more she is very creative!) or my favorite, dancing! What I love is that she really listens to what I want to focus on and what kind of work I need that day and she always comes up with an awesome plan that suits my needs and pushes me further than I thought I could. Our sessions are full of laughs, sweat, more reps than I thought I had in me thanks to her encouragement, and lots of FUN! She is an incredible trainer and now a dear friend and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a fantastic personal training experience.

I have sooo many things to say about Revibe Pilates and Bodywork! I will just state a few. Since the day I started Pilates my whole body on the inside is changing weekly. I have strength I have never had and the teachers are so good and attentive to the students. It is like having private lessons, because they help everyone to do the routine the right way and not the quick way. The people that go there are also awesome. It is a small studio with a big future, in my opinion! I have done pilates at other places, and I am happy to say I have found the studio I want to continue my body strengthing journey! Now, about the body work..I have only been to Kenny, so I cannot speak for the other body work person. I have had eye opening, soul opening experience with his cranial sacral work. Wow, is a good way to describe the experience for me. I also, plan to do more of this work with him. Kenny massage is very relaxing as well ,and he disscusses what you need thourghly before he gets started. I have fibromyalgia and he does not hurt me at all, only relaxation. I would reccomend this studio to anyone and I actually do! P.S. They also run some really great specials to help their students be able to afford the whole package they have to offer! Wendy brings to pilates all of her extensive physical therapy training and experience. I've done pilates on reformers at health clubs and injured myself. Not with Wendy! Her knowledge of how to adjust an exercise to prevent a person from hurting themselves is OUTSTANDING!! There might be seven people in a class each doing different levels and she keeps it all together so smoothly. And, I should add there is nowhere else you will find someone as caring and concerned about your welfare as Wendy is. It's FUN too! All shapes, abilities and sizes and ages working together. Been working with Wendy for three years now. She was recommended to me by another physical therapist. I know she is highly thought of in the medical and physical therapy communities. My doctor thinks she is the best!!
