Very reasonable bid, he arrived on time and worked very quickly and did a good job. I'd happily recommend Francisco Guerrero, and use him again for any roof repairs.

I feel very fortunate that I ran across Steve Petersen and his Mountaintop Construction company when it was determined that I would need a new roof on my house as a result of the large May 8, 2017 hail storm in the Denver, Colo. metro areas. Steve got in touch with me almost immediately after he was referred to me by a referral company called Thumbtack. Steve gave me a more than fair quote on price to replace my roof and had no problems with my waiting a couple of months to have the roof done. Steve helped me all the way through the job, coming out to check out my roof and provide me with his estimate within 24 hrs. I am an 81 yr. old Senior and don't always understand everything and Steve was very patient and thorough in explaining everything so that I would understand it all. He checked my insurance adjuster's estimate and his estimate was within the insurance estimate. He ordered the materials for me and was here up early and monitored the roofing crew's work until the job was done. He relieved me of my anxiety and lack of knowledge on all that had to be done, type of material and how much etc. I could not be happier and feel very lucky and fortunate that I had a man like Steve helping me get the new roof done. If I ever need another roof or other work done that his company does, I will not hesitate to call him again and also will refer anyone I know who is looking for a contractor to call Steve and his company, I have no regrets and am sure anyone else would not have any regrets either. There are good companies, and medium companies and poor companies, Steve's Mountaintop Construction Company happens to be an Excellent and Outstanding company in my mind. One of the best of the best. HRTI was very easy to work with during a difficult time. Our house was severely damaged during a hail storm. Greg and HRTI had a new roof and replaced windows within a few months. They made dealing with the insurance company very easy. I liked that HRTI uses year-round labor and not a company that comes in after a storm and uses temporary help. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Indeed, some of our neighbors using other companies took a *year* to get their house fixed after the storm.

Brent with Ropa roofing came by to inspect my roof after I had noticed some leaking on my ceiling. I fully expected there to be roof damage causing the leaking and wanted to get quotes from different roofers in the area for replacement. First off, Brent was very professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with his ability to assess the condition of my roof, lend his expertise in working with my insurance company, and ultimately hiring him for the replacement of my roof. After inspecting my roof, Brent said that the roof is actually in decent condition and would not require replacement. This helped me to trust Brent even more knowing that many contractors will do anything they can just to get the contract. He helped me with some minor repair work and I haven't had a problem since. I know that when its time for me to replace my roof I have someone that I can trust will not only give me a fair price but will get the job done right. With so many crooked contractors out there, it is a breathe of fresh air knowing that I have a trustworthy roofer. Thanks Brent!

AAC is a five star company start to finish! Karl and Logan did a free estimate for replacing the roof and painting my 1941 garage. They explained the process, gave a choice of high quality materials and were there throughout the project. Their roofing and painting crews were highly skilled, hard working and friendly. I’d use them again.

Can't say enough about the thoroughness and quality of work by the team at Earth Saving Solutions Corp. I was referred to Earth Saving Solutions Corp and worked with Chris Hock after the crazy hail storm in June 18th . I had so many roofing companies pressuring us and coming by non-stop. They were very low pressure, upfront about the process, and were even able to get some additional work done that our insurance company missed. Start to finish they were just amazing. There were a couple of small errors but they handled them quickly and professionally. Any questions I had they had actual answers to and the attention to detail made me feel like they wanted to take care of my home as they would their own. Thanks Earth Saving Solutions Corp!

Highly recommend! Hired Elevated Construction for a clean-up after a roofing company left a giant mess in our garage. Nick and Rusty arrived early, they were efficient and professional. Although this job was below their skill sets and a bigger job than anticipated, they went above and beyond to carefully clean up all the mess and put our storage items back so much better than the movers had done it! We have 35% more space after they were done! We will be having Elevated Construction back for skilled jobs- it's not easy to find a great contractor and small company in this market, and they exceeded our expectations!!

Eddie was a pleasure to work with. I called around for quotes and he was the only one who brought samples with him and gave me a choice of the type/size of pickets. He also included the stain with my purchase, which wasn't even an option with the other contractors. He completed the work in the agreed amount of time. He really paid attention to detail and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I had a large project and he had the best price around ($4000 lower than major companies like Lowes). I had 274 sq ft of fence (200 sq of existing fence and 74 of new fence.)

Josh and Bear Paw did a perfect job replacing a roof on a house I was selling in the Spring of 2017. They met with my insurance contact, arranged the dates, and completed the job on time and within budget. The process was seamless and Josh was in contact with me every stretch of the way. I highly recommend them.

I needed to have an urgent repair to some vents on the roof in order to close the sale of a house on time. Gary returned my phone call right away and was able to give me an estimate way ahead of anyone else. He provided different solutions at very reasonable prices. I feel like it is very hard to trust and rely on some roofers these days so it was a life saver to find Advanced Roofing Solutions. I will be using them for any future roof work.

Josh really worked with me and my insurance company to get a replacement roof a a very reasonable cost after hail damage. The roof was 25 yrs. old and insurance was only covering part. Had I not gone with Josh, I would have had to wait over the winter to get it replaced. Very happy to have it done going into winter.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

    • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

    • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
      • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
    • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
    • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
    • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
    • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
    • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
      • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
