Introduction: Unity Jazz is a powerhouse jazz trio who will absolutely not let hard driving jazz listeners lay idle. Three amazingly talented musicians who will spellbound their audiences, featuring guitarist Michael Coppola, Bassist Morris Trent and drummer Marcel Blanchet.
Michael Coppola, is one of the most exciting guitarist around today, Michael’s commitment to the music is magical, using his 9 string guitars with precision of a contemporary bop-based player. The music played is based on the kind of chord progressions that harmony-oriented jazz stylists have favored since the beginning and Michael’s virtuoso solos let you know he is in command of his instrument. Michael is listed as a main entry in acclaimed jazz critic Scott Yanow’s 2013 book “The Great Jazz Guitarists (The Ultimate Guide)”, alongside masters such as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, etc.
Bassist Morris Trent had a life changing moment at age 17 when jazz legends, Eddie and Bobbie Buster, home after years of performing in Chicago with jazz legends Sonny Stitt and Gene Ammons discovered and took him under their wings. Morris has developed a unique style of playing bass that is a special complement to the music created by Unity Jazz. Morris can be defined as one of the most creative bass players around with bass lines of precision and brilliance and a man with the biggest smile that will light up any room.
Marcel Blanchet drummer and SONY recording Artist, Producer, Composer ASCAP, including touring and playing drums in the Broadway shows, Radio and T.V. commercials and writing and producing the jazz musical “The Journey of E”.
