Walter came to repair a window for me over the weekend when I could not find any other company open. He communicated very clearly what needed to be done. He did a very neat job and left the premises clean. He was very polite and friendly too. The price was reasonable.
Marty Kein's work is outstanding. He is a very professional person and very easy to work with. He worked for me on two occasions lasting about four months in total. His work involved renovating my kitchen, two bathrooms and an attached garage. He installed three new windows and one door. He also installed oak flooring in my family room. You can depend on Marty. He is totally honest and wants to please you by doing a very professional and thorough job.
He was very professional and completed window installation in a timely manner. I was always available to answer any questions about the project. The windows came out great! I would highly recommend him.
Shane did a great job! I hired for a kitchen vent installation job. When they were done, I asked if they could fix a faulty drier vent. He fixed that real quick. Very professional and friendly. I will hire again without a doubt!
Peter responded so quickly to our need for window glass repair. He was friendly, professional and did a great job. I would recommend him for your general contracting needs!
French Door Installation, Ceiling Fans and windows and door trims. Luther is very professional and friendly. He helped me installed a French door, two ceiling fans and a some door and window trims. He gave me tips and took the time to explain. I would refer him to a friend. I will continue to work with him on other projects.
Dan was hired to assemble and install IKEA cabinets in the kitchen. He did an impressive job they look beautiful. It was part of remodeling of our kitchen and as a contractor he scheduled his time around and with both the electrician and plumber. It soon became apparent that his skills on other parts of the renovation was invaluable. He opened the kitchen up in ways we didn't know was possible and offered ideas in the design that made our little kitchen more spacious then we thought possible. His help with coordinating color and patterns made this old kitchen in to something you might see in a magazine. We love it Thank you Dan! My Mother is a bit of a perfectionist and making her happy can be a task at times, but he accomplished it with a very professional attitude and skill. I have worked with other contractors before who can be tempermental with poor communication and disappearing for weeks at a time Not Dan he always kept me in the loop and was available for every concern. As for any improvement in hind sight the kitchen floor should have been covered the whole time because the plaster dust was somewhat difficult to scrub off the floor. And can I mention he did this while 2 small kids were Home on vacation and often in the way. His patients are to be admired as he always had a good sense of humor and a positive attitude.
JCEC fixed all of the existing windows in my home. They did an amazing job fixing all the counter weights chains and reglazing the windows. All the windows look amazing and work like new. Will absolutely ask them to do work again. They worked in a timely and professional manor everyday
David from Homestead came to tear out some carpet in a bedroom in our home. He and his assistant did a great job. They worked diligently moving heavy furniture, and removing many, many staples to reveal a beautiful hardwood floor. I was completely satisfied with their work and would recommend them.
I do not even know where to start. If Bruce lived in a different time he would have been a Renaissance man. He possesses a masterful blend of artistry and intellect. The first project he did for us was to redo a simple laundry room. This entailed making templates and installing granite for a counter with a sink and a making a folding table/counter. He had to repair some sheet rock and repaint the room. The results were impressive. The second job he did was design and build a workbench for my art studio. His architectural renderings were impressive. He measured the length of my arms to insure I was able to reach the peg board behind the work bench. He thought to install a length of electrical outlets beneath the lip of the bench. The side drawers are easily opened and closed and the paper trays are large enough to hold my watercolor paper. He is extremely meticulous and his work shows this. He installed glass doors in the basement studio to allow more light to enter the area. When this wasn't sufficient, he cut through the concrete and installed a window (with molding and a sill). His masterpiece was the deck he built for us. With Bruce's skill and our artistic input he produced a showpiece deck. The three tiered deck allows for minimal visual obstruction of the woods below. He installed tiny lights on the stairs to make them safer in the evening. He thought of these. He made a portion of the deck curved to provide harmony with the landscaping. Again, his renderings were precise and impressive. He laid everything out carefully and was always thinking ahead. Our deck is magnificent. He handled all the paperwork for the permits as well. On a smaller scale Bruce hung paintings, our TV, glass doors leading to a bonus room, fixed all our leaky faucets and provided names when we needed a generator and a water softening system installed. Bruce is one of a kind in that he is masterful in so many areas and knows when to get a consult. He is prompt and ready to work hard. He put in very long hours, cleaned up and just did amazing work. I still look forward to having him finish an upstairs loft, a bathroom in our studio and build a space for a china hutch. I feel so fortunate that we found Bruce and would give him the highest of recommendations. He really is a Master of many things! He is also very easy to talk to and to work with.
I worked directly with Scott and Weathertite for a variety of work at various condominiums that I was a property manager of for fifteen years. Roofing and gutter replacement mostly but also siding repairs, and window replacement too. Never a problem and always complete satisfaction. Additionally, Weathertite installed a new roof and gutters for me personally four years ago. Phil G, Oakville, CT
i've used brian for multiple projects - 3 different paint projects and bedroom flooring . he's very efficient. comes in, does his work. very professional. has his eyes on the end zone. if you want to get something done in an efficient manner and a sensible price then hire him.
This was my first experience working with Thumbtack and For U Builders. I have a small house, and in the past, many contractors have simply not returned my calls because the job was considered "too small to bother." For U Builders installed 2 new custom exterior doors on my home. From the very beginning, Brandon (scheduling) and John (owner) were very communicative -- we had to schedule around the door delivery, and they were able to fit in my project as soon as the last door arrived. Stephen (Carpenter) is amazing! He made it look so easy and was attentive to every detail -- my house was built in the 1930s, so adjustments were necessary to make everything fit. When the job was finished, there wasn't a trace of dust or debris anywhere! I am very, very happy with the results, and will definitely work with For U Builders in the future. The entire team are professional, friendly, efficient and a joy to work with! Thank you!
When I contacted Square Feet Contracting, my contractor of 8 years had just walked out on me leaving my old kitchen floor ripped and the sub-floor only partially redone. This was the weekend before Thanksgiving and the kitchen installers were coming to install the kitchen at the end of the week after. This means that we had about a week (Thanksgiving included) to finish preparing the sub-floor, tiling, and grouting before installing the kitchen cabinets and appliances. I contacted Square Feet Contracting over the weekend and Paolo was at my house on Monday morning. He saw the project, took his measurements, and gave me a quote and a contract on the spot. Being that he could get started on it pretty much immediately, I signed right away. Paolo came with his co-worker Roberto always on time and in good spirits. This was a complicated tiling job because of the amount of obstacles, corners, closets, laundry closet, and little nooks that required a lot of patience and tile cutting. On top of this, part of the kitchen was an addition done many years ago and the floor wasn't exactly level. Paolo suggested changing the pattern of the tile in that part of the kitchen and that turned out to be an excellent suggestion. Not only was the unleveled floor issue solved, but the change of pattern looked aesthetically beautiful. He also suggested that we use the same tile to add a baseboard (battiscopa, as Paolo would say in Italian), and that was another excellent idea. Our floor looks incredibly beautiful. I definitely deserve some credit for picking such a gorgeous tile (lol), but Paolo and his crew truly did an amazing job in a timely manner (not rushing, but never stopping) and for a reasonable price. Since then he has also done my foyer. There are just two steps that go from the foyer to the house and the way he blended the kitchen tile on the horizontal part of the steps and the foyer tile on the vertical part of the steps is really remarkable. Paolo takes pride on his work and that shines through in the final result. I have so much respect for that. Now I want him to do my back-splash (as soon as kitchen counter-tops are installed), and then we'll move onto the two bathrooms. I give Square Feet Contracting five big fat stars without hesitation and I strongly recommend them to everyone.
We ordered new windows/install and new garage door with Marc the first week of November. Here it almost March and the projects are finally finished. Garage door just went in this week and windows a few days before Xmas. While he was fair in price and I believe he did a good job, it took far too long and we were strung along with a lot of poor excuses.
Bryan did an amazing job with my front door installation! He was very professional, informative and cool to do business with. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and plan on using him for future work.
Great experience having Victor do our siding, doors and windows. Would hire again for othe work. He was responsive and always had ways to fix some of the old stuff in my house. Had a great idea for shutters.
From day one Paulino was very responsive to any inquiry I had about the job. He was professional throughout. Due to traffic conditions he was a few minutes behind schedule but he gave me adequate notice of the delay. He was meticulous with the job (interior door installation), completed the job in a timely manner and cleaned up after completion. I highly recommend Paulino Home improvement to anyone who is looking for a door installer!
Out of 6 Thumbtack referrals, Scott gave the most professional response so even though he wasn't the cheapest, I hired him. Best decision I ever made! He responded to my email with detailed responses of potential solutions to my problems, confirmed the day before and arrived promptly. In three hours he fixed 2 doorbells, a flourescent light fixture, installed a dimmer switch, did a Home Depot run and repaired a leaky faucet. He also noticed a repair needed to my kitchen door and did that as well. He was quiet and cleaned up everything - not even a speck of dirt on the floor! I have several spring projects I will be calling him for - highly recommend if you're looking for a respectful, professional, knowledgeable handyman who does good work for a fair price. Thank you Scott.
In my limited experience with hiring contractors to do work around my house, more than half the battle is communication or the lack there of. Michael is really good when it comes to communicating and showing up when he says he will. He replaced a patio door for me. He did good work for a fair price, can't ask for much more than that.
Jim was very responsive to the initial request by reviewing the job site late the same day. He did an excellent job preparing and repairing the windows. Jim was informative in pointing out elements of the job I missed. He made the modifications and completed the job on time. His price was extremely reasonable. I would use Jim again if I have any additional projects.
