Introduction: My focus in practicing and teaching yoga is cultivating awareness to lead a more embodied, empowered life. This can be accomplished by examining the way we interact with ourselves and others, through the physical practice of asana (poses) and pranayama (breath work), and/or by focusing and stilling the mind with meditation. Creating a personal practice for a student may involve any or all of these limbs of yoga, depending on the student's wants and needs.
I am a continual student of yoga. I completed my 200-hour certification in 2017 and am currently working on my 500-hour certification. I look both forward and back for resources to support my practice, keeping up to date with new studies on anatomical alignment, trauma, and accessibility, and also studying the classic texts on yogic philosophy and spirituality.
