Mike was absolutely outstanding and I highly recommend him for any event. He's very professional and has the right level of energy that we were looking for. He drove very far just to meet us and I have a better sense of exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend his services for any occasion you maybe be planning. 👍👍

Our wedding went off without a hitch in large part to Chris, our DJ. Even though it was an outdoor wedding in 90 degree heat, Chris was professional and ready to work regardless. He kept everything on schedule, the music was great, and we got tons of compliments for hiring him. I am thoroughly impressed with Your Way Entertainment and would definitely hire them again for an event.

Chris was amazing! We had him as our DJ/Dance Instructor for a Harvest Hoedown networking event at our annual conference. He came SO prepared with things and options I didn't even have time to think of! At one point, the farm venue blew a fuse and all I see is Chris running across the field to try some damage control for the lights and music that just went out. He was funny, personable and professional. I would definitely hire him again and recommend him for your event.

Dan provided outstanding service during our Take Our Children to Work Day event where 100 children were in attendance. Prior to the event Dan communicated with me regularly to ensure all details were in good order including customization of the photo background and graphics. He arrived promptly to ensure the photo booth was set-up and working. During the event, Dan made sure all of the children were able to have their photo taken and made each of them feel comfortable, including one individual with special needs. At the end of the photo session, I was provided a flash drive with all of the photos...an added bonus! We were able to create a slide show at the close of the day which was a big hit. I'm sure Dan will be getting repeat business from our parents as he didn't have a single business card left...and he brought a huge stack. GREAT job Dan!!!

Mr. Marc Cacho was hired to take pictures for my graduation party! Mr. Cacho arrived before my guests and was very professional during entire party. I was so caught up in my guests that I forgot he was there, however, the candid shots were evident that he was present at every move I made! The pictures allow me to relive the amazing night I shared with family and friends!! I am so glad he was available to capture my precious memories! I will hire Mr. Cacho for any event that I have in the future because of his professionalism, eye of the right picture shot, quality of pictures, style, feel his good heart and sense the love for his art of photography!! Without any reservation I recommend Mr. Cacho as your perfect photographer! I promise you will be happy you chose him!!!

I hired this DJ company for my parent's 25th anniversary party. The staff showed up nice and early for set-up and did a great job with clean up as well. The music selection was fitting to the genre as requested upon. The lighting fixtures that were brought to the banquet hall was a perfect touch to really brighten up the atmosphere. Sadly, we had some technical difficulties with the microphones which caused delays during the beginning portion of the event. We also had more technical difficulties when it came to the dry ice machine as it caused delays with recreating my parent's first dance. I felt as though this could have been steered clear if the equipment was properly tested the day before or the morning of. Once the dry ice machine was working for the dance it did make the moment magical for them and I loved that they added this extra in for me. Even after the dance the kids there were having a blast playing in it. One other issue I'd like to point out is that the DJ needs to represent himself a little better. He never did any form of introduction at the beginning of the party and at the end as he was wrapping things up guests were wondering who this person was. I had several people come up to me during the party and ask me, "Who's the DJ?" He needs to make himself stand out and mimic the "wow" factor that his lighting equipment has. This DJ can really shine and do an exceptional job, he just needs to work on those issues which are luckily an easy fix. Good Job.

732Films-Shail, has given us the most beautiful highlight wedding video ever. We are just Awestruck. Its like a Short Story, most high end video equipment he has used. He did capture the most beautiful emotions more than what we asked for. We liked his approach to ask us what we are expecting and had immense patience to explain us what are our different options. He gave us more than what we asked for, he is more than wedding videographer, he is like a story teller who can stop the time and make everything about you. We are glad we found you 732Films, thank you for giving us this beautiful wedding video. Thank you MLCreativeStudios for recommending Shail.

I had a last minute request to get photos for a surprise proposal on the following day. Within no time, Gabriel reached out and provided me with details. He showed up early, set up his equipment, and did a terrific job taking many photos. My fiancee was thrilled with the event and was very happy with the quality of the photos, which were provided same day. I'd highly recommend Gabriel!

I hired David Chmielewski to videotape my first concert. I looked for a while to find the right videographer, & I am very happy with my decision! David has been extremely professional, & made sure to ask me several questions to determine what my needs were as a client. He was also very patient with answering all of my questions, which at times, were many! At the actual event, David filmed in a discreet location as I requested, & made me feel comfortable that he knew what he was doing. He was pleasant to work with, friendly yet professional to others involved with the concert, & although I haven't seen the video yet, I have no doubts that I'll be very pleased with it. I highly recommend David & his company! I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with his services!

We use Quantum Sound Productions for all of our PTO events! Whether it is for a smaller crowd, like for our 5th grade picnic, or a larger crowd of thousands for our annual Trick or Trunk event, this business has always been GREAT to work with! Owner, Alex is great at reading the crowd. For our events he keeps kids in mind, picking fun, current and family-friendly music for all to enjoy. We really enjoy the addition of their awesome photo booth as well, and love how we are able to personalize our photo strip for each event! It is a great keepsake for any special event. Not only do they provide great entertainment, but they are also always so great about announcements, helping to make our events safe, informative and extra fun! Lastly they are Always punctual, always professional and always a huge hit!

Tim was so great with helping me get professional photographs of my art quilts! We worked together to get them hung up right, which I appreciated so much. After that he did the Photoshop magic on the images, and he was very detailed oriented and open to my requests and preferences about the finished images. He was so very reasonable with cost, which is huge for an artist! I'm so glad I hired him for high quality pictures of my work!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
