I am a 47 year old man that picked up guitar with no musical experience at the age of 45. I have been going to lessons weekly with Pete for almost two years. I look forward to the lessons and I like them not only because I am progressing and seeing improvement but also because I think Pete is a great guy and I enjoy the discussion and back and forth banter that rounds out the lesson. Pete is following a course of instruction with me that uses Hal Leonard's books so you are building skills in a reasonable and complete way. Pete is clearly a talented guitarist and can pick up and help you with about any song you bring in or mention in class to supplement the book practice and to keep guitar interesting. Finally, when I was taking lessons at a local music store before I started with Pete, the instructor and I were shoved into what felt like a small hot closet for the lesson. I like going to Pete's house much better because his practice room is large and comfortable and he actually manages the climate to be comfortable for the student.
They have a lot of experience teaching guitar lessons to people with all levels of musical ability. I really enjoyed working with them.
Excellent!! I would recommend the music store to everyone who need a dependable professional guy for their piano.
I began taking piano lessons at 70 yrs of age and Barbara has been very patient and helpful in my learning process. I'm delighted to be able to read and play comfortably and continue to learn new things in spite of previous instrumental experience.
I have studied under David Gleba for over ten years now, and his depth of knowledge concerning classical keyboard performance and composition never ceases to amaze me. This along with his ample patience and kindness make him perfect for both beginners and advanced students alike. As a former concert pianist and practicing composer, few know their craft better than him; and once you get to know him, you may realize no one has a more profound knowledge and understanding of eighteenth century classical music than Mr. Gleba. Thus, for both piano and composition/music theory lessons, you cannot find a better teacher than David. Placing me under his direction was definitely one of the best decisions my family ever made, and you would miss an amazing opportunity to greatly improve your musicality and acquire a wonderful friend if you did not first contact Mr. Gleba.
I've studied music with Joe for 11 years now and he also taught my daughter. He's an amazing musician but maybe a better teacher. He knows music theory like the back of his hand but it's his ability to explain it and get you to understand it and work with it that's great. He'll take a tune your playing and open your eyes to whats going on in that tune and give great ideas on how to practice too. You can practice or practice effectively. Joe gets you to do it effectively. Combine that with a fun , easy going guy and you have a great teacher. Jay M
Mrs. Barone is a great instructor. Mrs. Barone teaches his students in a patient and understanding way and he provides and helps to build a strong foundation for his students. Besides, Mrs. Barone has broad and deep knowledge in the classical guitar specifically and music in general. I encourage you to enroll and take lessons with him because he will help you to achieve your goal in the future.
I was a bit nervous starting piano lessons in my 70s but Jonathan has given me such encouragement and praise that I am eager to take on increasingly challenging pieces. He is very attentive both to my strengths and to things I need to work on. Lessons are stimulating and very rewarding. I have seen him perform in groups and solo piano - he is superb!
Tommy has been an excellent teacher. He mixes just the right amount of theory into the lessons when it is appropriate to explain what we are working on. He is also very personable and easy to work with. I can honestly say it was a great find when I found Tommy.
Very attentive comfortable and personalized.
Rob is an excellent instructor and takes a personal interest in honing both your technical skills and your understanding and appreciation of what transforms a sequence of notes and chords into music. In addition to lessons, Rob is extremely generous with his time and goes out of his way to organize jams that allow students to learn to play in a band setting.
He provided private alto sax lessons to my daughter for 7 years. She is an exceptional musician, and he played a very significant role.
I came to Dan Shaw as an intermediate level, older adult student. Dan is very flexible in working on specific musical styles of interest to me. He teaches in a confident and friendly manner, with good results advancing my piano technique and knowledge of music theory. At every lesson Dan offers interesting insights that open my eyes and ears to the musicality of a score and to emotions buried in the sounds of a composition. I highly recommend studying with Dan. -----M.Z.
Barbara is an excellent music instructor. I have had 3 sessions so far and feel like I have learned so much from her. I can't wait to see how much more I will improve in the next 3 sessions. I'm glad I signed up for singing lessons at the Alexander Music Studio!
Barb's Continuo Home Music Lessons provided home lessons to my son. Not only was the instructor very talented, but they knew exactly how to interact with a young person to keep his interest throughout the lesson and encouraged practicing beyond the lesson. Barb is always prompt and goes out of her way to accomodate scheduling issues.
