Alexander Music Studio (AMS) has helped my child grow vocally and professionally but perhaps, most importantly, AMS has given my daughter confidence. She has received professional training in an appropriate environment with the consistent focus on improving her skills. Thanks to the training and practice provided at AMS, my daughter was selected to travel to Italy to perform in a Broadway Revue. My child knows that AMS is working to help her become the best she can be, to have the skills to succeed and the belief that she will.

My 8 year old daughter, Ava, takes voice lessons and is now starting acting lessons and we just love New Haven Academy of Performance Arts! Ava's confidence has already increased and the lessons are easy for her to follow and practice on her own at home. Her favorite day of the week is going to see Mr. Billy!

Kristin Huffman is a true professional. She has been my vocal instructor for the past year and I can say without a doubt that she is one of the best. Her honesty and constructive feedback are exactly what every student looking to make it in the professional world of performance needs. I know that when I work with her either in performance or instruction, I am receiving not only a valuable experience, but also the best I can get in making me be the best all-around professional performer I can be.

My daughter LOVES working with Kellian!! She packs so much into her 30 minute lesson! Kellian is very professional yet very personable. As a teacher myself I can appreciate good skills and Kellian has them in spades. And her PASSION for teaching voice even inspires me to want to sing. I just want to carry her around with me to every group of students I work with. I highly recommend her!

Anne is not only a performance professional but a teaching professional as well. She creates a learning environment that is challenging, creative, and effective. Whenever I meet with Anne I know she has researched her lesson plans, and I look forward to exploring the new techniques and exercises she brings to the table. Along with her curriculum, Anne's attitude and desire to connect with her students makes her an outstanding teacher and individual.

We run a video company and used Gene in a situation to work remotely when we could not be on site. He was punctual, professional, and made sure to keep constant communication with us. The gig we booked him for was not his direct expertise, but he made sure to get thorough information and do research before booking the job, to which he excelled.

Sky tutored both of my kids, one for ACT, the other for SSAT. Sky was always patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable in explaining content. I was pleased with the progress (my son's SSAT math score improved by almost 20 points). I would highly recommend Sky.

Working with Berit helped me to discover how I present myself public and gave specific strategies for conveying my message in public in a comfortable and intentional way. The specific postures and exercises helped me to open up to being seen in areas of my business that I have been struggling with. As an entrepreneur wanting to do public speaking this work is invaluable. Using simple exercise and postures, a speaker can learn to communicate not only verbally but energetically to get their point across. I see this being applicable in groups, classes or seminars and one-on-one work. There really isn't a place that it can't help someone be a better communicator. This is amazing work and Berit is very knowledgeable about applying her tools to any public speaking event or private conversation.

About

I teach private and group lessons in voice and acting. I coach both amateurs and professionals with their acting monologues, where we study the proper diction, acting methods, accents and phrasing. Vocal lessons include voice technique, exercises, diction, repertoire selection and improving voice quality. All lessons work toward achieving successful goals, building confidence and teaching students new ways to learn and improve. Lessons are one hour and can be week to week, in a series of four sessions, or at the student's convenience depending on their schedule.

About

Whether you need to perfect your monologue, prepare for a college audition or a N.Y. casting call, I can help you. Learn to relax, focus and open up while preparing to nail that audition. I have worked with children, adults, amateurs and professionals. As a director, I know what gets positive attention at an audition.

About

I am a singer/actress who teaches voice lessons and can coach young actors who would like to pursue the arts. I am a graduate of the Boston Conservatory where I studied music, theatre and dance. My education gave me a great foundation for teaching. I also have a wide variety of repertoire and can help my students find the perfect songs for their voices. I have studied musical theatre, pop, country, jazz, opera and rock. I can also assist young actors in developing their skills, whether they want to try out for the school play, prepare for college auditions, or just want to try it out. As a performer, my career has taken me all over the world. Last year, I did a concert tour throughout Japan with the Tokyo Philharmonic. I have also worked for The Walt Disney Company and Royal Caribbean.

About

I have been an actress for 20 years myself. I know what it takes in order to make it in one of the hardest industries there is and, on top of that, win numerous awards while doing what we, as actors, love to do! In order to teach someone a talent, I myself, have to withhold and nurture that talent. I understand everything an actor goes through during the process of preparing for a role both technically and emotionally. As an acting coach it is crucial to be able to relate and understand role reversal and I have been both the actress and the teacher.

If you can talk, then you can sing. I learned to sing before I could talk and love to help others learn that they too can sing. I am also accomplished at teaching acting and am coaching for public speaking. If you use your voice, you need to use it correctly to protect it. If you are afraid to speak in front of others, call me. I can help you!
