Had my first ever drum lesson with Ryan. I was impressed by his mastery of the craft, and the ease with which he communicates the most rudimentary drumming techniques. It is a wonderful balance and made me want to become a better drummer and better person in general!

Barb's Continuo Home Music Lessons provided home lessons to my son. Not only was the instructor very talented, but they knew exactly how to interact with a young person to keep his interest throughout the lesson and encouraged practicing beyond the lesson. Barb is always prompt and goes out of her way to accomodate scheduling issues.

Chris can teach both drums (drum kit) and various percussion instruments (tympani, tuned percussion, etc.). I am taking lessons from Chris mainly to learn basic rock drumming on a standard drum kit. He is a wonderful teacher. He'll give you valuable lessons not only on playing the drum kit, but also on good drumming fundamentals, such as proper stick grip, how to position your hands on the stick, and stick control, speed and independence. He will also instruct you in good habits and tips for practicing the drums between lessons. I very highly recommend Chris as a drum and percussion teacher.

Ron is an outstanding musician and teacher. He can teach a variety of instruments and voice. He lives and breathes music. On top of that, he is a real people's person. He has been working with a daughter since September. It is a real pleasure.

About

The Al Miller Drum School has been in existence for over 5 decades. It is an easy program to follow and has provided it's students with the tools needed to understand rhythm and technique. The system is based on Al's proven instructional method begun in 1951. Many of today's most well-known drummers have studied the Miller drum system, including Billy Cobham, Greg Bissenette and Rod Morgenstein, to name just a few. Even the great Buddy Rich recognized the value of his system and asked my father to teach him to read music. Since my father's passing in 2000, I've been expanding his method and personalizing it for the modern drummer.

About

I love to personalize everyone's dance and musical desire's and bring it to life!! Weather it's Dance Lessons, Percussion Lessons, and if you need any form of Entertainment (DJ, MC, Live Entertainment, Event Coordination) I'd be more than happy to assist you in any way!

About

Being both a gigging drummer and a teacher, I have seen how improving one can benefit the other. I work hard towards bettering my craft, and doing this in tandem with teaching helps me solidify my playing and concepts, while invigorating my spirit and love for playing this instrument through being able to articulately explain what I have learned through my experiences. I can assist in helping with technique, rudiments and grips, with a variety of drumming styles, such as funk and rock, and also jazz and Latin drumming. I teach all ages. My goal is to help others discover a love for the instrument, gain a respect for the learning process and find their unique way to express themselves on the kit.

Billy is an amazing Vocal teacher and is the COMPLETE package! In today’s world, you need to be more than a one trick pony. It’s not enough to be a great singer; you need to connect with your audience. In order to do so, you need to develop other skills to get you there. My daughter Samantha has taken lessons in other studios and has learned some valuable skills. However, my biggest concern was that she was not getting the opportunity to hone in on other skills that go hand in hand with be a singer; such as microphone technique and performance skills. Billy is amazing at analyzing the exact needs of his students. He has a great personality which makes it easy for his students to feel comfortable with him; in turn that builds the desire for them to want to learn. When you take lessons with Billy, you are not just singing the same song week after week with a back-track or doing a sing along with a piano. He offers so much more. He teaches his students how to relate to a song in their terms (age appropriately) which builds a passion for the student from within (sing with meaning from the heart). He teaches students how to develop their range and has each student learn to sing all forms of music. In a short period of time, my daughter has had a complete transformation. She has developed her range, learned how to deliver a song in a more powerful way (breaking down a song from start to finish & when to emphasize the high points & when not to) has developed microphone technique and has become an amazing performer. All of these skills have contributed to a significant improvement in her self-confidence! Billy’s experience as a singer, actor, dancer & performer (in many different types of venues) makes him the complete package. The combination of these skills are truly not something that is offered in any studio that we have attended or considered going to.

About

Tom Dest has been teaching music consecutively for 27 years to private individuals and groups. This includes lessons to beginners, intermediate and advanced students on drumset, vibraphone and marimba. Tom also teaches hand drums, music composition, music theory and recording engineering. Some places Tom where has given lessons are Trinity College, Hartford Academy of the Performing Arts, various public school percussion programs, Dynamic Percussion, Creative Music, and presently, at Varela Music. The cost for lessons is $22.00 per half hour. Why are lessons with Tom so inexpensive while most other teachers and studios are charging more but have less experience? With our present economy, most prices for every thing are on the rise. Tom simply does not want to follow suit; that’s all. Thanks, Tom P.S. I do not accept any kind of pre-payment via mail or electronic transfer for lessons.
