Dimension Restoration & Construction is a dream to work with. I approached Ishita when my wife and I purchased land in West Hampton. Since it was a small lot, I wanted to maximize the use of the space while remaining true to the architectural vision of similar homes in the area. In addition, I wanted to blend my love of industrial modern with mid-century style while finding a way to include modern conveniences. I immediately knew after my first meeting with Ishita and Mike that they understood my vision and that the company was much more than a general contractor. They very quickly came up with plans to match our design and introduced me to all the suppliers that we would need to realize the final vision. Dimension was on top of the ordering process and managed all the materials from the start. I was also very impressed with the team of project managers assigned to my project. Unlike many general contractors, Mike and his team initiated a high and consistent level of communication with me as both client and designer. His entire staff was responsive to any request and I felt like I could contact them with any detail, big or small. Attention to detail is important to me and Dimension didn’t disappoint. From the plate and drain covers to the high gloss cabinetry and appliances, the team was there to manage each aspect of this project. I can be a demanding client but I always felt that Dimension was on my side. There were several times during the renovation that I was out of town and I didn’t worry that work would continue in my absence. I felt completely confident in the team and knew that I could trust them to watch over the details. Even down to the final walk-through and punch list, Dimension stayed with me and responded quickly. Additionally, the billing process was simple and painless. Although the major phase of my renovation is complete, I plan to use them for some small projects. If you are looking for high design and attention to detail, I would not hesitate to recommend Dimension Restoration & Construction.

When starting our plans for redecorating, it was overwhelming. Then, Sheri to the rescue. Sheri made a Three Phase Plan which included: design for changing out countertops, flooring, fireplace, doors, lighting, etc.; a Resale Concept and an Overall Projects Objectives with suggested time line to help stay focused. From chaos to calm, that is the plan. Thank you Sheri Giancarlo! Kindly, Margaret Erickson

Jeremy took what another designer had failed to make work for my website and made it exactly what I wanted—even adding things I didn’t know I wanted. He is very personable while still being professional and instills confidence early on in the partnership. I would recommend Jeremy for any website, design, marketing, or branding project. Also, I should mention he produced my project in only 4 days, after a previous person I had been working with took months. I’m proud of my website now and I owe that all to Jeremy.

Sal has been dependable and responsive to my needs and wishes in every way. He keeps me informed on what is happening. He managed to get me on the agenda quickly for a hearing before the zoning committee, was there for me and presented my need for a variance in a way that could not be refused! As we move forward on this project, he is seeking my input for the design and then applies his expertise to make it work. Just a great guy to work with! I highly recommend him!

I contacted TZ&A Group for a logo re-design for my small business. I heard good things about them from a vendor I regularly work with and decided to give them a try. I'm very glad I did! I was so impressed with the quality and professionalism that I hired them again to create a brochure. Tatyana at TZ&A Group designed the layout and illustrations. She incorporated my ideas and contributed with her own and in the end delivered a great marketing tool for my business that I'm very happy with. I found their services to be very reasonably priced especially for what you get. Tatyana did a great job and I will definitely use this company again.

    About

Emend Designs desires to help you reform your presences on the World Wide Web. Here are the eight great reasons why you need a website: 1. Websites never sleep Many people surf the web in the evening when most businesses are closed, which is perfectly fine because websites never take a break. A website will allow your business or organization to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Having a website is the equivalent of having an employee working around the clock, even on weekends and holidays! 2. Your top competitor has a website. If you are in direct competition with another business that has a website, they have a clear advantage especially if they are adequately marketing their website. A website is a great way to level the playing field. 3. "Just Google it". More than ever before, people are turning away from the traditional means of finding information and looking online, especially by way of mobile devices. Your business should be at their fingertips when they look in the search engines. 4. Websites improve customer confidence and corporate image. With a professional website, you will improve your overall impression to the public, and in turn, your customers will develop a greater sense of confidence in your organization. 5. Small businesses have higher revenue. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses that have websites are averaging $1.07 million more per year in sales than small businesses not online. That equates to 39% higher revenue. 6. Do you know 247 million people? That is the number of Americans that regularly use the Internet. Worldwide Internet usage is pushing two billion. 7. Websites help establish more customers. According to the Small Business Administration, 50% of Internet sales are from new customers. Having a website significantly improves your customer reach no matter what services or products you offer. 8. Websites are not just local. They are global. Most small businesses are only able to market to their town and the surrounding communities. With a website, you can take your goods and services across America and around the world, if you choose so.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

      What do interior designers do?

Interior designers do much more than pick complementary paint colors and choose matching furniture — although those tasks are important parts of the job. Unlike decorators, interior designers usually have an associate of science degree or certificate of achievement in interior design from an accredited program. They’re trained in drafting, lighting and computer aided design (CAD), and are experts in room-specific design and residential space planning. Interior designers use these skills to plan and design safe, highly functional and beautiful interior spaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to family rooms and bedrooms. They determine space requirements, work within building codes and inspection regulations, and meet accessibility standards. An interior designer’s day-to-day job includes creative and technical tasks, both of which often require great communication skills:

      • Creating model rooms and visuals using design software.
      • Researching different textiles, materials, finishes, lighting and furniture.
      • Hiring suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
      • Estimating costs and making bids on potential jobs.

What should you look for in a website designer?

A professional web designer creates the look and feel of your website, collaborating with you to choose colors, creating logos and other branding materials, establishing page layouts, and creating sample pages. An important part of web design is making sure the site is functional, meets your goals, and is easy for users to navigate. When you’re looking to hire a web designer, start by reviewing the person’s portfolio. Look for samples of work that match what you envision for your website, including experience building the types of pages or features you want. Make sure the web designer is familiar with your industry and understands both industry trends and web design trends — an old-fashioned or out-of-touch site will turn customers away rather than intrigue them.

Because web designers tend to work as freelancers on a project basis, they must be excellent communicators, willing to manage their own work, and available on your schedule. Some critical skills, such as working collaboratively and responding enthusiastically to feedback, aren’t core to good web design, but make working with a web designer much easier. Finally, look for a web designer who has cross-functional knowledge, such as understanding marketing and conversion rate optimization in addition to web design.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

      • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
      • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
      • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
