Barbara had some great ideas for the shots. She also listened to what I wanted. She gave me plenty of options to choose from as well. It was a pleasure working with her and I was very happy with the final product!

I have worked with Barb a couple of times including taking some informal shots for our wedding weekend. Barbara is always prompt which is huge for us. She also was very flexible when we asked for quite a few locations. She was very positive and upbeat throughout the shoot. When it was all over, she provided a link of all the photos. We have emailed back and forth through the process, including my asking her for advice throughout, and it all went well. I would gladly work with Barbara again or suggest her to others. She seems to have a particular gift with children and babies. The examples of her work on her website are quite stunning.

Barbara has taken photos of our twins over the last two years as well as our recent newborn. She loves kids, is gentle and sweet with the little ones and silly with the toddlers. A different approach for each and both effective. Most importantly photos are excellent! Highly recommend for anyone taking family photos

Every once in a while, you come across someone with the skills and talent to blend science and art and capture the essence of an individual. Barbara has that gift. This is never more true than with children. I have the pleasure of seeing a lot of her photographs of kids, and she invariably is able to show the "real child" in the picture. Her patience, dedication and ability blend to make her an outstanding professional and photographer. You will not go wrong, or be sorry if you choose her to capture your special memories.

Barbara Hallman has taken portraits of my family on multiple occasions, including snapshots of my children (newborn to age 7), my wife and I, our family of 5, and a maternity portrait. Barbara has a professional eye and an approachable, friendly style; she makes us all feel comfortable. She has nicely polished our pictures at times and presented beautiful framing options, including wrapped canvas. I have memorable pictures from Barbara displayed at my office and in my home.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of Professional Photographers of America and attend conference and sessions each year to continue my learning.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
The joy of watching people and the images that I could create. I have a definite connection with people and that allows me to capture great images.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was asked to do a session for several families and their children for a Christmas present for the parents. It was the parents, 3 children and their spouses and 8 grandkids. We met on location and scouted out scenarios, did the session with each of the families individually and as a large group. At the end we reviewed the images and although each family was pleased, we had not captured the whole family image they desired. We opted to redo the image versus photoshop people between several images. The family was all ready and willing to reconvene and we were able to get the present completed. I was very touched when each and every one came up to thank me and hug me.
