FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I regularly attend conferences, seminars and expositions, and continue to learn about new gear, different techniques and to grow as a photographer. Happy to provide details if you're interested!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working as a photographer when I was 16 years old! I bicycled to my clients' homes, and did my developing in a darkroom in a basement bathroom. (This was in the film days, before digital.) I always had a keen artistic eye, but my drawing & painting skills were less developed. Photography is the perfect medium to express my art. I have a large collection of fine art images, and have won awards in shows at Silvermine Art Guild, The Carriage Barn Arts Center, and others. After working as a copywriter and editor, I returned to photography, my first love.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I photographed a young girl, her sisters and her family on the morning of her First Communion. They all looked stunning in their fancy clothes, but I got the girls giggling and laughing. Now we're reviewing the images together, and the girls look silly and sweet and happy and just lovely. My client told me, "When I looked at the gallery, I almost cried, it was so beautiful." This is my fifth shoot for this family.
