Esther started teaching our six-year-old daughter piano lessons at our home a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough good things about her. Esther is great with kids; she is energetic and fun. She keeps our daughter engaged for the full lesson and gives reasonable practice material. Esther is patient and flexible in her schedule. She even offered a free trial to make sure they would be a good match! I highly recommend!

My wife and I are both teachers, and my two children each have very distinct learning styles. I think the thing I appreciate most about Esther is how differently she approaches lessons for my son vs. the way she teaches my daughter. She absolutely adjusts her methods to suit the needs of her learners, and that is invaluable regardless of what someone is teaching. Because of this individual attention, my kids never see sitting down to practice the piano as "work." Also, having someone who is willing to come to the house is fantastic; we never have to worry about getting everyone ready and out the door on time. We've had a fantastic experience with Piano is Fun so far. I can't wait to see what kind of progress my children make going forward.

Thank you so much, David and Julie, for the privilege to teach your sweet children. Both of your children have unique talents, and it is my pleasure to look for their special strengths, build their confidences, and encourage their spirits by making the lessons fun. Your children are responsive, hard working, and quick learners. What more could a teacher ask for? Thank you for making my teaching joyful.

Esther is fantastic with the kids and very patient. She is passionate about teaching and it shows. Her lessons are varied with book work so the children get a good understanding of what they're learning.

Esther started working with my two children, ages 11 and 13, about a month ago. We greatly appreciated that she insisted on the first two lessons being free so that we could establish whether or not she and my children were a good fit for each other. One of my favorite things about Esther is that she was able to quickly realize that my children were very different - in terms of demeanor and how quickly they acquire skills - and she was able to easily adjust her approach and expectations without hesitation. My children greatly enjoy her positive, upbeat, and reassuring attitude, and we love that she comes to our house! She always "masks up" and is very respectful of our home - including offering to remove her shoes each time she arrives. I highly recommend Esther if you are looking to encourage a reluctant learner or someone who is very shy; she does a beautiful job.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Hi Friends, I offer the first 2 lessons free to give everyone a chance to decide whether I am a good fit for you. I charge $30 for half an hour, $45 for forty-five minutes, and $60 for an hour. However, I am sensitive to any families suffering financially and am willing to talk over with you the price that fits your budget. Look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Esther

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically, I offer the first 2 lessons free so that every new customer gets a fair chance to see if my teaching fits his or her expectations. In the first lesson, I like to ask my new student to play something he or she has already learned to play. I ask what he or she would like to learn and how many years of lessons he or she has had already. In this way, I look for each students' strengths and build confidence through them. I like to make the lessons fun so that the week of practicing is challenging and the next lesson something to look forward to. I try to make every lesson a new learning experience so that new ground is gained each week. Music is meant to bring joy, and the joy itself brings inspiration. This was my experience, and I make it my aim to share this same delight that music has brought to me. I emphasize theory, sight-reading, ear-training, technique, and repertoire.
