To whom it may concern: It is a privilege to write a personal Letter of Recommendation on behalf of my trusted colleague, Jo-D Demore, proofreader and editor. Jo-D’s unrivaled skills and ability in this area stem from her uncommon aptitude to condense advanced abstract concepts into clear, concise non-technical language. Her capacity to affect such perfect proofreading/editing changes comes from her dedication to detail while focusing on the core concepts or objectives of the document. She dedicates immense time and effort to understanding the author’s concepts and objectives. This step sets her apart from others that are simply proofreading for grammar because she encompasses a larger overview to ensure materials are not just punctuated correctly, but actually flow and are understandable to potential readers without compromising the intent of the author’s principle concept or argument. One of Jo-D’s specialties, and the one most pertaining to our work, is large written projects that require several revisions as the document develops to its full scope and scale. I have personally used her services over a period of several years for multiple documents consisting of hundreds of pages. As concept, and thus document content, is revised, Jo-D plays as large or small a role as required. She can micro correct for strictly proofreading requirements, and she can also macro evaluate for the larger picture about document content, structure and flow. The normal dynamic between an author and editor is one of contention but not so when working with Jo-D. Her work is exemplary, thorough and timely, and she is a real pleasure to work with. For anyone in need of proofreading or editing, she is a godsend! Sincerely, Joseph V., Ph.D.

After eleven books together, I can't imagine working with anyone else. From a technical point of view, she doesn't just go through with a red pen (or comment tool), she explains her reasoning, especially if the correction could go in different directions. That extra information not only helps me in that book, it sticks in my head and I like to think my writing has improved as a result. On the creative side, she provides sound input on consistency and story development, ensuring that my characters stay true to themselves. This is no easy task in a true series where the same core cast appears frequently. I use spreadsheets and flowcharts to keep them all safe, and knowing she's as invested in them makes her my first and only choice in editors. But, I think my favorite part of working with Jessica is getting little insights into how the book made her feel. We're all readers, aren't we? A book can be technically sound, but is it enjoyable? Jessica will leave comments in the draft on parts that really struck her (good and bad), and summarize her overall impression in a way that is both constructive and encouraging. I sent Linda my book manuscript and was amazed to see how many grammatical errors I had made while writing the book. She corrected my slang, out of date jargons, and made suggestions to correct or relocate paragraphs to other chapters. She also advised me about statements that should be altered to avoid legal action from individuals or establishments named within the chapters. My manuscript went from being an unorganized, choppy, collection of events, characters, and facts into a smooth flowing, easy to read document. The book is currently being evaluated by the editors of a major publisher which makes me very grateful to Linda and her grasp of the English language and ability to edit so perfectly.

Gildig & Associates produced a wide variety of educational and support materials for several Fortune 500 companies. Our client’s needs were unique and included how to paint cars for Chrysler Corporation’s automated robotic paint shop in Newark, NJ, National Gypsum’s Dallas plants on how to make sheet rock mud, dry powder, and the actual sheet rock, Nuclear Power Plant and Power companies on power up, power down, and emergency procedures in the case of overheating, surgical equipment to cauterize veins for Venus Medical Technology, and many more. Ms. Claudia Wheeler was one of two strong editors who GAA was fortunate to work with. Ms. Wheeler was a ruthless editor and caught even the smallest detail. Nothing received her seal of approval for release until it was grammatically correct, made sense to the target audience, and addressed all possible learner questions. There were many times where we had a very short deadline and we could always count on Ms. Wheeler to pitch in and help us help our clients. She never missed a deadline, was always ready to help anyone in our group that was struggling, and most important of all, she ensured that the information was conveyed in a non-technical format. I strongly recommend Ms. Wheeler for any writing/editing position because of her sound editing skills, flexibility to meet all deadlines, and her impressive work ethic. Should questions arise, please feel free to call or email me. Cindy Lou Gildig Managing Partner, Gildig & Associates (GAA) cindylougildig@gildig.com 573-743-3411

To the people who know me I am the best editor available who never actually majored at college in English. This allows people to get a rather high quality result for less, as I do currently charge lower fees due to suffered brain damage that causes memory issues and bad insomnia.
