Mr. Parez was my tutor in high school for about a year to help me prepare for the SAT exam. The tutoring sessions were very convenient because they were done over Skype. Having the tutoring sessions done over Skype cut out time/money that would have been put into travel. Mr. Parez was always accommodating when it came to scheduling my tutoring sessions around my busy schedule. Mr. Parez had me take a preliminary SAT exam to see the areas of the exam I excelled in and which areas I struggled with. He helped me improve significantly in the areas I struggled in through various personalized lessons and homework assignments. Mr. Parez helped me to raise my score significantly. I believe that achieving a higher score on the SAT exam made me a stronger College applicant and helped me to get into 7 out of 7 Colleges that I applied to, including my top choice, of which I am now in attendance. I highly recommend Mr. Parez for any of you tutoring needs.

Ms. G is a wonderful math tutor. My daughter in 7th grade was struggling with pre-algebra. Ms. G tutored her throughout the year and she went for failing to a B+. My daughter enjoyed the sessions and felt well prepared after they met. She also helped to boost confidence which has helped in all of her classes. Truly a delight!

I am an experienced tutor with over 15 years of teaching in five different countries. I am competent in several subject areas, such as math, economics, business and science. In May of 2012, I obtained my M.A. in Secondary English Education, prior to that I earned a B.A. in Political Science, both from Quinnipiac University. Furthermore, I currently possess Connecticuts Initial Educator Certificate, endorsement code 015 (English, grades 7-12). My tenure as an educator thus far, in particular my full-time position at Danbury High, has allowed me direct interaction with diverse populations of students. This has helped to broaden my horizons, fostering skills both in and out of the classroom, and, furthermore, has helped me actualize my strengths as a teacher. I excel in formulating rapport with my students, consequently motivating them to strive for excellence within, and beyond, the classroom walls. As an individual with ADHD, I empathize with special needs students, and I have become particularly adept at designing curriculum, syllabi, and daily lessons that are meticulous in terms of differentiated instruction. Technology is a particularly useful modality in the modification of lessons for vast and varied needs of pupils. Being of a generation weaned on computers, I am technologically savvy. I frequently incorporate multimedia within my classroom; the result of which is creative lessons that excite and engage students. Inarguably, technology is one of my most powerful tools for conveying ELA content knowledge, but it is not the only one in my arsenal. My undergraduate studies in Political Science provided me with a strong civics background. This, when fused with my passion for the English language, allows me to cross the traditional subject borders. My myriad of content knowledge is an asset, for it aids me in the creation of unique interdisciplinary units. ID teaching, in todays society, is pragmatic because it prepares students for life after school; there, you cant leave one subject behind in order to work on another. Being a teacher is about getting students ready for the rest of their lives, and in the real world, everything is connected. Understanding this, I work tirelessly to ensure that each and every one of my students succeeds, and matures into the best person he or she can possibly be.

I am a recently retired teacher, who has worked for 20 years, at a private school in CT after retiring. I realized that I did not want to stop teaching. Private tutoring is a way in which I can still practice my teaching passion.
I can tutor various subjects. I am currently a student with a math major at a university. I speak Spanish, Russian, and Italian (learning).
I provide high-quality, personalized SAT tutoring for anyone having trouble with the Verbal section (reading and writing). I'm a certified state educator with 7 years of SAT-tutoring experience. I've developed an efficient, effective method that focuses on concrete strategies and techniques for each question type. I focus on one thing: getting test scores up. As a result, every single one of my students over the past 7 years has shown marked improvement. I personalize every course for the individual student. I utilize Socratic-style methods to ensure that the student is working for every minute of the class - thinking, debating, and processing - and not just listening to me talk. I also bring a high-energy, fun attitude to my lessons; one that acknowledges that the SAT is no fun for anyone, but is beatable by everyone. If your student needs help on the verbal portion of the SAT, I'm your man, even if you've tried classes or programs before.
Intelligentia Professional Academic Support Students advance from low D's to A's.
I teach math at all levels and standardized tests, including SAT, PSAT, ACT both Math and Verbal. What customers love about my work is that I get results. I am a good teacher. I am able to draw out my students to see how they reason on problems, and then guide them to improve their reasoning, as necessary. I don't just tell them how to do a problem; I teach them the reasoning that allows them to solve it on their own.
