I needed repair to fix my door frame. My door frame was quite damaged. As soon as I filled out the Thumbtack repair request form, Walter contacted me. It was a Sunday, that didn't deter Walter to come out not only to assess the damage, he repaired it that same day. he also gave us a great price which was tremendously lower than the other prices I was quoted. Walter is very kind and professional! I'm quite pleased with his excellent work! (See the before and after pics.) I would recommend Walter and his company to anyone!
Harry has been wonderful to work with. I hired him to repair a few small holes in my wall. He was thorough and did a great job. His rates are fair and he communicates well about the project. I highly recommend hiring him.
We hired Marty to replace a damaged faucet, fix our capped pipping, repair damaged wood framing, and replace and patch the drywall in our master bedroom. All in a single day. He did an excellent and meticulous job on the bathroom, and the new faucet works great. The wall was closed up, and Marty even had time to take a look at our garage door opener, which had been malfunctioning for quite some time. The value you get for Marty's time is great. If you have any odds-and-ends around the house that need fixing, don't hesitate to give Marty Klein a try. You won't be disappointed.
CJ was great and helpfu beyond what asked for. Volunteered info when he saw something needed repair. Will definitely use him again for several upcoming tasks. Joy to work with.
Choosing Shane was the best choice we could have made. Needed some plumbing done to repair a toilet, and when he came out he noticed a bunch of other smaller things that were also on my list and he was able to also knock out. Coming back for another electrical job as well, so we found our all in one Mr Fixit and we couldn't be happier. Very responsive, communication before and after the visit has all been great. Rates are more than fair for the area we live and all in all it was a great experience. I highly suggest this vendor if you need things done around the house.
We have found all sorts of things for Brian to do, and some have turned into bigger jobs then we had originally though, and he has continued to work on them; for instance, keeping water from pouring in side door. He has patched a hole in our sheetrock and re-hung a stair railing, he give plenty of notice when he is coming and going and is always on time. He keeps his worksite very clean and keeps his eye on the dog, we are very pleased.
Great job overall. My fence broken in a storm and Herson and his team was able to fully repair it. The repair required the removsl
Luther quickly responded when I posted a job to repair two broken windows. He was friendly, professional and speedy! I've already called him back for another job!
My fiancé and I hired Cook Contracting and Remodel to complete a project that was very important to us, the complete renovation of our spare bathroom and Den. This project was very important for us for 2 reasons: 1) This is our main entertaining space for company. As you can see from some of the before / after splits, this entire area was embarrassing to host our family and friends because it looked like Big Bird threw up all over the walls. Don’t even get us started on that disgusting carpet. 2) Before we discovered Thumbtack, we were actually ripped off by another “contractor” we found on Facebook for the same job. To be fair, he had reviews and seemed legitimate enough but we soon discovered he was a fraud, pressed charges, and thankfully recovered most of the money he stole from us. Anyway, because of this fact, we were completely scarred from having someone literally come into our home and steal from us, making it understandably hard for us to trust anyone again. Then we downloaded Thumbtack and met Teddy Cook. From the onset, it was very clear that Teddy was not only incredibly knowledgable about all aspects of construction, but also enthusiastic about the prospect of working for us. He told us on more than one occasion in the estimate process that he really wanted to do this project for us, which was refreshing because a lot of other contractors we looked at on Thumbtack couldn’t even be bothered to produce a quote after coming over for an estimate. Teddy’s passion got him the job, and we are in complete and total love with the results! It is worth mentioning that everything Teddy worked on for us was custom work. There was really nothing standard or cookie cutter about what we asked for; we are both very creative people and had a very specific vision for what we wanted the space to look like and Teddy’s creativity and skill was able to bring our vision to life! The work he completed for us as a part of this project included but was not limited to: - New Tile Floors Throughout (included leveling of all floors, as our our slab the old tile / carpet was on was COMPLETELY uneven) - Full Bathroom Gut - Brick Wall in Bathroom - Curb Shower with Rain Head, Niche, + Bench - All Tile Work - Heated Floors in Bathroom - Sliding Barn Door - 3 New Additional Interior Doors - New Exterior Door + Storm Door - Rehabilitation of Existing Den Walls (in VERY rough shape from previous homeowner garage conversion) - New Paint Throughout - Brick Wall in Den - Custom Bar Built from Scratch - Custom Header Beam - Rehabilitation of Existing Staircase - New Base, Crown, + Door / Window Moulding - Upgrade of Electric Service to 150 Amps Teddy performed all of this work either himself or with various assistants. None of this work got subbed out to any other companies which speaks to what a professional Teddy is. We were amazed at not only his ability to do so many different elements of construction work (plumbing, electrical, tile, sheetrock, carpentry, millwork, painting, masonry, etc.) but to literally be an expert in each and every area. This was such a nice departure from going the General Contractor route and having a parade of different trades tear the house apart for weeks on end, blaming the people who came yesterday for today’s problems. Besides his level of expert craftsmanship, one of the traits we liked most about Teddy was how great of a communicator he was. He was constantly in contact with us throughout the entire project and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Communication is a two-way street and we made a point to meet with him every morning to see what the day would bring. If we couldn’t be there to greet him first thing because of other obligations, he would always call or text us. But above all else, what we most appreciated about Teddy was how trustworthy he was. It isn’t easy hiring a contractor who will spend time in your home when you are not there (and remember the horror story we told earlier regarding the bogus contractor we first hired), but Teddy earned our trust by being polite, respectful, reliable, and a good communicator. We cannot possibly sing Teddy's praises loud enough or recommend him more highly, and hope the pictures of the work he completed for us says more than words ever could. Teddy, thank you!
Glenn Scelza is a godsend. My old friend desperately needed help of a good carpenter to come and assess the benign neglect on the front of her antique home. Garage doors needed to be installed post haste, but the garage door company needed the repairs to be made first. I posted on Thumbtack and Glenn responded immediately. Glenn arrived and I could tell right away what a nice guy he is and is a seasoned carpenter/contractor. He assessed the project with a trained eye and zeroed in on what was good in terms of the construction and what looked bad to us, was very doable indeed.. He was very resourceful and made use of what could remain and shopped locally which I loved, for lumber, gutters, leaders and even found the novelty clapboard pieces to match the 1940's facade. He was very fair and open about what things would cost along with his craftsmanship which was worth every penny. I appreciate he could even work with us so late in the season even as winter weather set in. He will be present right after the holiday weekend to connect with the garage door people. When those vintage looking doors are installed the place will regain its curb appeal once again, thanks to Glenn. This guy is a keeper and I can see why is highly recommended! I add my recommendation to Thumbtack as well as our neighbors in the community. I look forward in working with Glenn on future projects. Thanks Glenn! Norm Peekskill, NY
Working on house repairs while you're out of town could be very stressful, but Dave made it such a good experience! Dave came to my house to repair the front door shortly after I posted my project. He kept the price true to his estimate, and made sure every detail was taken care of. He returned the next day to do some repairs on the chimney. He showed up on time, and got the job done on time. It was very easy to work with him -- he responded to my texts and phone calls immediately, and kept me updated of the progress he made on the work. He was very honest -- my house sitter somehow overpaid him in cash and he let me know immediately after he found out. I highly recommend Dave!
Jeff and his crew did a wonderful job installing my barn door. He discussed my options with me and made sure I would be happy with the result before any work was started. The door came in a box in pieces and had to be assembled so that was also taken care of. The final result is a beautiful, nicely hung barn door. I’d highly recommend Jeff and his team for any projects you have in mind. Reed Construction has handled a number of jobs for me in my new home and I’ve been very impressed with the level of professionalism and workmanship.
The job could not have better! Marco did a great job to install tiles in a laundry room and foyer. He used a wet saw table so there was nothing to clean up afterwards. He installed new floorboards, and did a few extra things like replacing a stone tile with half bull nose edge in the bathroom and repairing a broken door molding. He even came on a Saturday to help me pick up supplies at Home Depot. Very professional and reliable. Would highly recommend.
All hiring aspects went smoothly. Found a better date for the work then anticipated. Even an unscheduled surgery did not prevent these guys from finishing on time. Made good/excellent repairs to a window and front door. Would highly recommend!
I needed to have a 100 year old pocket door fixed, and it took me about a month to get back to Mike. And when I finally got back to Mike, I needed it done ASAP. Mike came out the same day and figured out a fast, easy and permanant fix - without having to damage walls. He also gave me a few tips on the Reno I as doing. I will consider Mike for larger projects in the future.
Hired Jerry & Carr Services LLC- Needed a door fixed ASAP for new tenants moving into my house in Bridgeport CT. He knows the trade and was very efficient with the task at hand. The big thing here is he was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. I've hired lots of contractors and this guy is neat and very professional. He will be my go to guy for anything I need in Bridgeport. Thank you for the door repair
I hired Bruce to replace my front door and repair the jamb, sill, frame & trim. He did outstanding work, very friendly, done exactly when he said it would be. A year later and the work is holding up precisely as it should. I would highly recommend hiring him for whatever you need.
Ben is very conscientious and reliable. Excellent communication and workmanship. I highly recommend him. He replaced trim and repaired doors on our outside shed as well as cleaned our gutters.
Experience with RSF was great. Steve helped me with a small door repair, but was very professional and communicative throughout the entire process. Wouldn't hesitate to use his services again. Thanks Steve!
Oscar did a great job completing my wall repair and painting. The wall is an unusual color and he matched it perfectly. I would highly recommend his services.
We could not be happier with Dennis's work....our house looks amazing. It is a late 1800's construction that required a complete lead abatement and restoration. Dennis and his crew stripped it down to bare wood meticulously, replaced clapboards and trim, repaired the back porch and antique garage doors, and today it is a show piece, which the Historical Society wants to include in their next house tour! Dennis was instrumental in guiding us toward the perfect color scheme and design, which admittedly was not our original idea, but in retrospect turned out perfectly....we can't thank Dennis and Pro Quality enough for all they did. Dennis goes above and beyond to get every last detail just right, and his customer's satisfaction is clearly the highest priority. A true master at what he does....
