FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is competitive with other full time professionals in the area. Please note that as a professional photographer in Connecticut, I must collect sales tax, which is not included in quoted prices.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe strongly in consulting with clients before taking a job. A consultation can take place over the phone, but I believe it is better in person. I am happy to meet with customers at my studio in West Hartford CT, or elsewhere if that is not convenient. Depending on the type of work, a contract and deposit may be required to secure my services if the shoot is to take place more than 1 week away. This is mostly typical for weddings and events. After consulting with a client to determine their needs, a photography session will be scheduled or event date secured. Once the session is complete, I will deliver the photographs within the agreed upon timeframe. For studio work, or location portraiture, proofs are usually available within 48 hours or less. Events such as weddings can take 14-20 days for proofs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been fascinated with photography since i was a kid. My first camera was an old Kodak Brownie that I discovered in the attic when I was about 10 years old. My work started getting attention in my early 30's and I began shooting professionally on a part time basis. After 15 years of moonlighting as a photographer I was getting so much work that I made the decision to start my business.
