Marty has completed several projects for us in the past six years. Every one was expertly completed, on time, according to specifications. Marty's prices are very reasonable, his estimates accurate, and his workmanship excellent. He is exceptionally versatile. He can tackle almost anything, from carpentry to masonry, floor laying to plumbing, electrical to painting and pressure washing. Projects completed for us include the conversation of two bedrooms into a studio with kitchen, with a new vinyl floor and the addition of an outside/entry door; replace an existing single basin vanity with a two basin vanity, and new vinyl floor; remodeling our laundry room; pressure washing and painting the house exterior. Marty is an excellent, reliable and affordable all-rounder with a pleasant personality. We will request his services for any future project we might have. We recommend him highly. He is a jewel!

I had a very good experience moving. Chris’s company was very accommodating and helpful. I was stressed by the move and he was able to calm all my fears and got the job done quickly and smoothly. They moved an entire house of furniture to my new apartment with no problems and a garage full of boxes and stuff to a storage unit at a different location. They did all of this in a few hours, they were quick and professional. The cost was very affordable for all of the work they performed. I highly recommend this company for all your moving needs.

Professional and on time. I found him on this app 7/12/18 He came the next morning. He was fast and affordable. He replaced my old chandelier to the one that I bought at Home Depot, he also rised it to the correct height. The professionalism and customer courtesy that HandyMan 24:7 showed us is why I will be recommending my friends, family, co-workers to use his services any time they are in need of handyman help. Again, I want to thank you, for your professionalism. -Lori

Frank was early and got right to work on my siding job. He had matched the color perfectly! (no easy task) The job was completed on time, perfectly done and at a reasonable price. He is a skilled craftsman and I was very pleased with his work. I will recommend him to family and friends if they have need of work on their homes. After receiving three appraisals for a roof replacement Squire Roofing, Andrew (Drew) Oehler, owner, got back to me within a few days. His appraisal was in the ballpark and I had (word of mouth) heard that his company was very reputable. I rent this house and worked with Tracy Tomaselli, owner, to select a roofer. We agreed on Drew. Once the deposit was made Drew came by to say that a dumpster would be delivered that morning. And that materials would also be delivered by noon that same day. Both were delivered that same morning. Drew also explained that his crew would be starting at 8:00 am Saturday and work two days to complete the job. He questioned if 8:00 am was too early. (it wasn't) At exactly 8:00 am the crew showed up. I went out to introduce myself to the foreman which I found was very polite, knowledgeable, and personable. I spoke to him during the day to ask if there were any problems (ex: plywood warped, any rotting etc), there was nothing but the replacement of the entire roof, no issues or concerns. The first day they finished one side and said they'd be back the next. Unfortunately, it rained on Sunday, but Monday at 8:00 am the crew was back and proceeded to complete the job, (the entire roof, the flashing to the chimney and a small roof over the kitchen addition.) During these two days Drew visited and spoke to the foreman and also stopped in the ask me if everything was okay? I had absolutely no concerns. At the finish of the job the crew cleaned up the entire yard like it had never happened!! Immaculate! I couldn't find a nail or any part of any of the tiles. Drew was very on top of his crew and my concerns (which there weren't any). I would give this contractor a 10 or A+ and highly recommend him to anyone. Sincerely, Linda L. I had an amazing experience with DiNoia Construction and plan to use them again. The owner, Joey DiNoia coordinated everything and found the best quality products and roofers for the best price. He kept me well informed throughout the process and was a pleasure to work with. The roofers showed up on time and were polite and professional. I felt very comfortable with them working on the house. They completed the job on time within budget and cleaned up afterwards. The roof is beautiful, I would definitely recommend this company.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
