Introduction: We are an architecture and design firm specializing in residential renovations. This includes interior design projects, big and small, kitchens and bathrooms. The principal works personally with each of our clients to solve their problems and create the desired space and look with the level of client involvement that suits.
We produce careful, elegant solutions, often arrived at with the clever use of inexpensive elements. The Washington Post article on Sternscape describes the approach.
Design consultations are Marilyn's specialty. An initial consult consists of the evaluation of a given space, to render it beautiful and functional, and, if possible a schematic plan. She may also supply relevant product and fabrication sources. Follow-up help is generously included.

Marilyn is a fantastic combination of architect and designer. She has an excellent eye for how to arrange and sculpt spaces. She pays more attention to detail than anyone we have ever worked with - so the pictures are at exactly the right height, the paint color is exactly the right shade, the shelves fit precisely into the space that is there for them. She is wonderfully clear about what will work - and what will not, and her wonderful sense of humor makes her is a delight to work with. We have worked with Marilyn for over ten years, and the end result has always been a perfect match of function and style.
