Introduction: I work with the client, and try to incorporate their vision and functionality into a custom piece of woodwork that will enhance and compliment Their Home. I like the creativity of working with my hands and turning an Idea into a viable useful project. That the home owner will be proud of for generations.

Refinished my Grandmother's wash stand. To say it was an outstanding job and beautiful beyond words is an understatement. I was so blown away by how beautiful it was I had tears in my eyes. I thought it was ruined from sitting on my Mother's porch for 30 years. At best I thought he could make it presentable but it truly a work of art now.

I had the pleasure of having Gary Maley do woodwork for me. He refinished a couple coffee tables for me. When Mr. Maley made my tables look like they were brand new when he was finished. I was amazed at how well he made my furniture look. I would recommend Mr. Maley to anyone that needs woodwork done. He takes his time and he does professional work. He is very efficient and his work is always of quality. I am definately going to be using him in the future for more wookworking jobs. If you need amazing work and be proud of the finished product than having Gary Maley is the man for the job. You will get quality work at a reasonable price. You won't go wrong.

Gary did a great job on our restored items. He has done four pieces for us and all were outstanding. He is as good as it gets.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always loved working with my hands and getting a vision in my head and turning it into a solid object.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

talk to your mechanic in detail about what you want, ask for drawings, sketches, or pictures of what he plans to build for you, too make sure your both on the same page. Also ask for photo's of completed projects.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I wish more people understood the time and attention to detail it takes to do a job such as this. All wood-grain is different and should be matched up as best as possible, as well as understanding how different grains cut and take finishing products. The difference from closed grain and open grain, Hardwoods and soft woods. Which can be confusing because soft woods are not always soft and hard woods are not always hard. That it can take a lifetime to learn to be prolific in this trade and there's still always more to learn.
