Trust me when I say I'm the last person you would think of as a dancer. I've never really enjoyed it because I didn't really understand it or know what to do. No one ever taught me. But... Gonzo is freaking awesome! No one has ever explained the basic foundations of dance in a way I could have fun with. Within one lesson, Gonzo not only taught me more about dance, music and beats in a way that is easy to understand, but he also got me more excited to learn more about dance than I have ever been. Also, I felt very comfortable speaking with him as if he was an old friend. You can tell he really enjoys dance and loves seeing people learn and improve, and he has awesome energy. Needless to say, my search for a dance instructor is over, I'll definitely be back for more and I'll recommend him to anyone I know who is looking to get into dancing whether it be for social outings, a special event or competition. If you are hesitant or skeptical about dance and your ability like I was, definitely do yourself a favor and take at least one lesson with Gonzo and chances are your views and beliefs about dance will change.
We have had our consultation with her and have continued with her services. She is fantastic, patient, and very observant. Additionally, she has a wealth of knowledge on the topic of dance. I would recommend her from our experience thus far!
Working with Priti Gupta-Udeshi was such a refreshing experience! She recently choreographed a wedding dance sequence for the family wedding and was able to cater to dancers of various levels of expertise / style / comfort levels (both both in person and via video) with such ease and elan. Her dance move analogies are hilarious, relatable and so easy to remember. We had a fantastic sequence and practicing for the dance was one of the best memories my family has of the wedding. Thank you Priti.. we miss you now that you moved.
Kat is an awesome instructor and performer. She is well known in the DC dance community and highly regarded.
The brilliance of Judicita as a wedding choreographer and dance teacher is best conveyed by my husband, Andrew: I am a man who is terrified of dancing. In six weeks, Judicita took my dancing from "baby giraffe immediately after birth" to, as our wedding guests commented, "surprisingly not terrible" and "actually kind of really impressive." I did not want to jump out of a window at any point in the teaching process. Judicita was professional, empathetic, and effective both as a teacher and a choreographer. I am extremely happy with the services she provided and would recommend her in a heartbeat. I proposed to a woman of Puerto Rican/Peruvian background. She lives to dance. I was informed, lovingly and with zero wiggle room, that our first dance at the wedding would involve me doing salsa. Growing up, the blackest nightmares I ever had involved me trying and failing to dancing in front of all of my friends and family. So, choking down the terror, my then-fiancée and I contracted with Judicita to teach us (i.e. me) a choreographed 3-4 minute salsa dance. Judicita is--and I cannot stress this enough--extremely good a teaching. She has all of the normal, fundamental dance instructor skills: she's a talented dancer herself, she's very good at motion analysis and mechanics, and she's able to define and adjust choreography on the fly. But where she truly excels is her raw ability to teach. Rather than the familiar and irritating "Do this. No, like this. Point your toe more. No, like THIS. Watch me AGAIN" style of fussy instruction you get at many salsa rooms, Judicita is genuinely and patiently focused on teaching you to move. "That was great!" says Judicita with what feels like genuine excitement. "If you hold your chin a little higher the spin will be tighter, but you've really got the basic motion down!". She continually explained the "why" behind the motions, and let us learn at our own pace without getting hung up on perfection. We learned exactly what we needed for our dance. More importantly, I didn't feel like I was going to throw up from stress during lessons. I could list out many other positives: her quick and precise decisions on choreography--always listening closely to what we liked and didn't like; her flexibility in dealing with our schedule; her constant positivity and professionalism. In the end, we successfully pulled of an amazing first dance that was exactly what my bride wanted. Was I actually a born dancer? An unpolished diamond in the rough whose amazing skills were simply waiting to be discovered? A modern-day Patrick Swayze, if you will? This is what I'll keep telling myself. But the truth is, the only reason I walked out onto the floor excited, confident, and prepared, instead of nauseous and terrified, is because Judicita guided me there every step of the way. She should be teaching movie stars and professional competition dancers, instead of awkward dudes hoping to impress their partners. But thank God she does.
My experience dancing with and learning choreography from Brandy has been great. She is skilled in multiple genres of dance and is able to work with anyone from beginner to advanced levels. Brandy has a passion for and takes pride in what she does. She puts in the extra time to make sure you are comfortable with the choreography. Dancing with Brandy is an EXPERIENCE and I would gladly recommend her to anyone who is interested in learning the art of dance.
Asala was amazing! We had her come to entertain our wedding guests and she was an absolute hit! Everyone was taking pictures with her and dancing with her. She looked like she was having a great time too! Her belly dance routine is both very tasteful and great for audience participation. Working with her as a vendor was great. I hired her on Thumbtack in August of 2016 for my wedding which would be about a year later (May 2017). She was very courteous and helpful over the phone and has lots of sample photos and video media to share. She let us customize everything: the order of her routine, the music selection, her costume and props, and she even helped combine her performance in with the groomsmen dance performance. Asala's service was quite affordable and fair too. So all in all, she was an absolute delight to work with and she is someone I can highly recommend with great confidence. Thank you Asala!!
I hired Razilee to perform for my wife's birthday party and she was incredible! Her dancing we fantastic and she did a great job of getting everyone up to dance. She even danced with the kids and they loved it! We had a few requests and she handled then without issue. We absolutely loved her and she made the event a huge success! We definitely recommend her and will hire her again!

I recently held a public event to expose the community to the Arab culture and wanted to incorporate belly dancing into the experience. Leyla's show was a perfect fit for my party and the audience LOVED her! The way she engaged the crowd and made them participants in the performance was just phenomenal. Should I get the chance to host another event like this one, I'd hire her all over again. :) Thanks, Leyla! - Aubrey M.

I am having great time learning belly dancing. As a beginner it's tough but i will get the hang of it with practice.
Had booked entertainers for a convention and the point of contact Stormy Vain was very professional, funny, and outgoing. She told me everything I could expect from her entertainers, and I got so much more!!!! Her entertainers were very very good at what they do. I highly recommend her services to every and anyone. Stormy is a business owner that everyone should contact for their events.
The teaching is excellent. She has knowledge of many dances and keeps training herself to get better. She also does a good job of trying to fit you in on a schedule that works for you. Unfortunately, parking at night is a struggle. Biggest problem is the dance floor. It is cramped, which is problematical for the big, flowing dances.
The Ferocity Dance Company was founded in 2012 and focuses on Bachata Fusion pieces: mixing ballroom as well as other dance styles with Bachata to create a distinct viewpoint and style. The Ferocity Dance Company houses three other franchise bachata dance teams, and has also grown to have a competitive group that performs Bachata pieces to compete in National and International competitions. The mission statement of the Company is: Fierce Is For Everyone. It is our hope that through constant support for the dance community, friendly behavior on and off the dance floor, and a distinct respect for all dance styles, that we can create a safe environment for all to learn and enjoy dancing. Whomever wants to be family, can be. Most of the students that attend Ferocity are currently performers or striving performers. Students can be seen anywhere from once a week to seven times a week - it depends on how many teams and workshops they attend! We pride ourselves on offering teams that have different bachata styles so that our dancers learn new things, new styles, and new perspective!
