FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is either: 1) a callout charge/hourly rate, OR: 2) a guaranteed fixed price. (If I don't get it done, you don't pay.) I can also shop for parts/materials if that's convenient for you . . . no extra charge. You're paying for my skills, intellect, experiential knowledge of what works, experiential knowledge of what doesn't work, amazing set of tools, service ethic, reliability, and labor; it's a good value proposition.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I value an ongoing relationship with Clients far more than overcharging on a one-time basis. The highest mark of success is a callback in the future or a referral to your family or friends. Ergo, I am especially attuned to making your first encounter with me a good one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Licensed Home Improvement Contractor - Certified Home Inspector - Member, International Code Council - Member, International Association of Certified Home Inspectors I own and have owned personal homes and rental properties, and spent nine years in the real estate business. Over time, I became fluent in home repair, improvement, and maintenance. I possess a DC Home Improvement Contractor license, and have passed all written coursework and exams for a Virginia General Contractor license. (If I don't know something, I'll say so . . . then learn it.)
