I have the benefit of being able to draw from both eastern and western methods as I trained as a nurse first before entering the holistic field. So my perspective is both anatomically and energetically bound. Biofeedback is also something I offer to deepen your sense of relaxation and focus providing a tool to handle your medical concerns and stress. I enjoy providing comfort and sharing my knowledge to help others reach their goals and find a centered place within to return to when rejuvenation is needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course, I have been studying an entire series with Dr Ben Benjamin on injury assessment and treatment protocols. One of the main methods of treatment is with a technique called Cyriax Cross Fiber which assists the muscles and ligaments heal in a proper alignment during the scar tissue formation post injury.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Well I already mentioned it in my shortened bio but basically evolved into it through nursing. I was a hospital nurse working on the orthopedic neurology floor and ICU step down who also did home care, including working with community hospice through health care agencies. I found that the patients on the floor really loved getting a massage before retiring and additionally didn't take as much or opted out of pain medication and tranquilizers after receiving it. They always asked then for Their Massage and additionally during daytime hours with the other shifts when not an option from the staff. It was nice to know how much benefit they got and how excited they were about receiving it. It brightened their spirits and that in turn pleased me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Usually pain related whether with acupuncture or massage. However, I added a new service to my list and that is facial rejuvenation and allergy treatment with acupuncture. It's very interesting It is touted as helping to promote collagen production as well as relax and tone facial and or neck muscles. The needles have a bimodal effect meaning relaxing where contracted and toning where slack.
