Introduction: Since 2015, I have trained a wide variety of clients from young athletes to seniors, helping each one of them institute beneficial changes toward healthier bodies and minds. My training methods incorporate the fundamentals of posture, breathing, flexibility, balance, and strength. I specialize in corrective exercise and provide nutrition advice as well. I have been working with Sanu Amen for the last 4+ years. We meet twice a week for 45 minute sessions. These workouts concentrate on balance, flexibility, core strength and mobility. In addition, we will work on special issues if I have developed an ache or pain. As a 72 year old women, these sessions help to keep me active, limber, balanced and relatively injury-free. I do not consider a private, personal trainer a luxury, rather a necessity. I rely on Sanu’s wealth of knowledge of nutrition, physiology, anatomy to help me age in a fit and healthy manner.

Working with Sanu for the past 6 months has been nothing short of AMAZING! If you are looking for a trainer that will focus on proper body mechanics, correcting your posture, enhancing your balance and your overall health-Sanu is the man. He is extremely attentive to your body's needs and seems to know just what needs to be worked on. I was initially apprehensive about having a trainer due to an ongoing ankle injury, but Sanu helped me with that ailment providing attention to my ankle with corrective exercises. I am very happy to have met Sanu & I plan on continuing my training with him.

    The pricing for Human By Design DC is based on a scale. Simply put, the larger the packages have a lower cost per session.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The physical assessment is the first step of working with Human By Design as a client. This assessment is an opportunity to discuss your specific goals, undergo a thorough investigation of your static standing and dynamic posture, examine breathing patterns, and test strength and endurance. The information gathered during the physical assessment will determine your readiness for exercise and form the basis of your personally tailored program. The cost of the physical assessment is $75.00.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a personal training certification from NASM, with a specialization in both corrective exercise and nutrition.
