FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
With video production services, I price based on half-day and full day rates. If editing is involved I price accordingly depending on the editing time needed. With still photo, I base my rates on the length of time needed for the shoot and then the final editing the clients want. Usually a package which includes the shoot and digital files plus editing of selected final photos is what clients prefer. I am always flexible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In order for me to best serve my customers, I first listen to them and find out what they are looking for and their desired final results. It is so important to both be on the same page in terms of process and final expectations, so the initial conversations are very important. I then let the client know if I can fulfill their needs and what the job will entail.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a focus on Film and Video. I then went on to Graduate studies at the School of Film and Television (La Escuela de Cine y Television) in Havana, Cuba. From there, I lived many years in New York working in documentary and reality TV production. My TV clients have included networks such as HBO, PBS, Discovery, TLC, Washingtonpost.com to name a few. I moved to Washington DC to work full time as a video producer and photographer for New Media Mill LLC for 3 years, until the birth of my daughter. Wanting more flexibility with a young child, I went back to freelancing in the photography and video production world and loving it!
