FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am first and foremost an advocate of natural beauty and enhancements. Most of my clients come to me because my services are not extreme - I do not offer extreme makeup applications, and I do not offer overly intense skincare. Most of my clients hire me for video shoots and photoshoots, weddings (where they want to look like themselves) or pamper parties for fun girls-night-in facials. In addition, I try to give sound advice for caring for your skin and health.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To anyone looking to hire a makeup artist, especially in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, I suggest requesting either testimonials of previous jobs or to see a portfolio. The District has recently released regulations on needing licensure to practice makeup artistry and therefore you must be careful of those who just pick up a brush and are not sanitary as well as have not studied the craft. To those looking for facial treatments, be sure to check that the esthetician has been licensed through the state (and it is not expired). It is also wise to see if he/she has been a practicing esthetician for over a year (as some may keep their license updated but practice allows for learning and enhancing your craft. Also, be sure that the esthetician is knowledgeable about current technology and happenings in the world of skincare.
