Let me start by saying that as an event planner, I would like to refer Chef Kev as my "caterer of choice" to all of my clients. Chef Kevin's catering company is FABULOUS! He is not only has a wonderful personality - but it is clear that he loves what he does and is passionate about preparing quality and healthy food. His food and customer care are outstanding. He was able to accommodate our law firm open house of 70 with no problem. He planned a creative and exquisite menu, arrived early before the event, came well prepared and set up a beautiful table. The guests were blown away by his food - which was DELICIOUS! Several guests requested his business card, and there were actually no leftovers... (Teriyaki Meatballs and Mesquite Chicken Wings were to die for!).
Dee was very responsive before, during and after contracting with DMV Staffing. Then on event day, with 60+ Guests for a post-wedding brunch, Dee and her staff handled everything smoothly, pleasantly and professionally. They needed very little direction after being oriented at the start and just took care of the guests, the buffet and bars, keeping everything replenished and cleaned up. They cleaned up everything and left the house in perfect shape after the event. Many guests commented on how helpful and pleasant the staff was and how smooth and unobtrusive the service was provided. I was delighted with Dee and her crew. I would highly recommend them.
My husband and I hired Top of the City Catering to cater our recent wedding in Washington, D.C., and their service was absolutely stellar. The food was delicious, the wait staff was courteous and attentive to our guests and owners Maribel and Noel went above and beyond to ensure that the overall atmosphere for our dinner reception went off without a hitch. I would HIGHLY recommend hiring Top of the City Catering to cater any large event, such as a wedding, engagement or retirement party. It will be money well-spent supporting local small-business.
After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.
Angie of Honey Do Wedding and Event Planners was one of the best decisions we made throughout our wedding planning process. She was affordable (especially for a student and military wedding) but always made us feel like her number one clients. Not only was she a great value, but she went over and above what we were expecting. We hired her to be our day of coordinator, but we met with her on a regular basis and she always responded to all calls, texts, and emails. Angie is incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and has connections with various other wedding vendors. As a same sex couple, she never treated us any differently than an opposite-sex couple, and she actually was great at recognizing the subtle differences that come with having two brides. At our first meeting at a potential venue, Angie came prepared with examples of her work and binder with all of our info. She even printed out new forms that said bride and bride instead of bride and groom. These small but significant touches are what make Angie stand out among other wedding planners. She helped us negotiate with vendors to get better prices and confirmed all vendors the week of, lifting a lot of the stress off of our shoulders. We can't speak highly enough of Angie and the Honey Do family!

My husband and I hired Floyds DJ Services for our May 13, 2017, ceremony in Woodbridge, Va. Finding a DJ had proven to be my toughest task during the wedding planning phase. . . that is, until Kacey responded to my request for information. She's pleasant, easy to work with and was always responsive. The constant threat of rain for our outdoor ceremony has us wavering on whether we'd be outdoors or move the ceremony inside. Kacey remind flexible as we didn't make the final call until just hours before the ceremony was to start. We were lucky enough to have BOTH Kacey and her husband, DJ Unknown, for our ceremony and reception. He is a GREAT hype man, and together, they read the crowd and played the right mix of old-school jams (as I requested) and current Top 40 Hits (including a ton of songs from my personal playlist suggestion). DJ Kacey even got on the dance floor to lead the crowd into a line dance and help get the party started. Their sound system was super crisp and there wasn't a single glitch! We had selected a final song to be played, and when it came time, DJ Kacey and DJ Unknown surprised us with a PHENOMENAL send off by having our guests line up in a receiving line to end the day. In a word, it was pure magic! Floyds DJ Services is a true example of exceptional quality that doesn't break the bank. I'd recommend them 10 times over! -Kevin G.

Michele and Laura are absolutely amazing and I highly suggestion them for any type of event! They were such a delight I now consider them friends. I hired them as day of planner for my wedding about 30 days before the wedding date and they jumped right in and help me with all details and logistics for the day so I didn't have to think about anything. They worked with all of the vendors I hired to coordinate and schedule out the day of the wedding as well as the details needed before the day. They also came to every meeting with me that I had at the hotel(reception site) from the day I hired them to the day before the wedding. They were there to protect me and my ideas and vision for my wedding day. Every email I sent with questions was answered within hours if not sooner. And trust me, I sent a lot of emails :-) My wedding was amazing and I owe it to them for it being possible. They were able to source signs and décor I wanted last min,the day before the wedding!!There were some hiccups that happened the "Day of" but I didn't even know about them because Michele and Laura from hotel to the church helped smooth it all out and knew what I wanted and were able to make decisions for me. They really do it all, the hotel coordinator left before my desserts were plated, so Michele and Laura were in the kitchen plating desserts for the buffet. And the last song of the night Michele, the multi-talented lady that she is, played the drums with our band!! Honestly, their professionalism, coordinating skills and genuine care and passion for their events make these two the BEST!
N&M Divine Cuisine & Events planned and catered my wedding. Mary listened to my vision and stayed within my budget to make my dreams come true. The food presentation was beautiful and delicious. I will definitely use them for my son's graduation party in June.
Tiffany did an excellent job in helping with our event. We were having a dinner with immediate family to celebrate our wedding, and Tiffany set the table for the dinner, set up the cocktail hour, and picked up and served the food and drinks for dinner. One particularly tricky part of our dinner was that, despite it being a small group (11 people total), there were many different dietary restrictions (and difficult directions for all those different restrictions!), but Tiffany got everything exactly right and did a fantastic job making sure it all went smoothly. She was also incredibly quick to respond over email and extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend Tiffany and Party Helpers for any event!
BMore Fabulous was such a great find for our wedding, we will be looking to work with them again soon for our family reunion! I needed a wedding planner due to my busy schedule. I wanted someone to be able to accomplish anything I needed from vendor searches to scheduling. I quickly found out that I needed an all-inclusive package, however, all the polished major companies I found were charging a ridiculous amount of money and not providing everything I wanted to be accomplished. To save money and also try to support local businesses or start-ups, students, amateurs etc, I started to look for wedding planners on craigslist, thumbtack, local ads etc. I found BMore Fabulous and was quickly convinced that this was who I wanted to work with. The price was right, the details were many, and the contract was flexible. I did not realize until later, but we really did win big by working with this company. BMore Fabulous was more than all inclusive. Erin, the boss, accomplished all the expected all-inclusive activities such as finding vendors, scheduling meetings, and planning the day of events, but she did WAYY more than that. She was also our decorator for the venue, with her own linen and decor, she provided uplighting for beatuiful effects with her own equipment, and she was our florist for all the bouquets and decor. She also provided the staff and coordination for our bar. If you truly want all inclusive in one place, Erin, from BMore Fabulous is the WOMAN. Also, regardless of what she could provide, Erin, was very flexible. This, I find, might have been the most important benefit we got from working with them. I imagine other polished and bougie companies would be very strict and inflexible when it came to the contract, payment options, changes to your ideas and plans. With Erin, we were able to change our contract twice. Our payment options were flexible, and there were no hiccups with policies. If we had a vision, there was no headache with changing things. My husband and I are very particular and he had his doubts if all of our details would turn out right at the wedding. He actually had his doubts about BMore Fabulous, because all of our meetings were not conducted at an office, and details were written on lined paper, or an old laptop etc. In all reality, that was judgmental. Our wedding turned out absolutely beautiful! Despite that there were so many mistakes from our officiant and DJ, the crowd did not notice, and the only reason it ran as smooth as it did was because of BMore Fabulous! My husband in fact, later said how he was impressed by Erin and her work and how she did an exceptional job. Definitely work with BMore Fabulous!
I hosted a function for about 200 people and used ELG Event Productions. Lisa was awesome! She helped me stay in budget, she was organized, and had a great attention to detail. She thought of things and brought them to my attention before they occurred. On the day of the event, she ensured that things went smoothly and we stayed on track with the timing as outlined in my program. Overall, I had a great experience using ELG event planning services and would highly recommend them to everyone!
Leslie was incredible to work with. She helped make our wedding day such an amazing experience!! From the very beginning, Leslie was very professional, organized and responsive. Not only did she answer questions I had about planning the wedding, she also was helped to reassure me when I was feeling the stressed and overwhelmed. She visited and met with the coordinator at the venue prior to the wedding date and made sure that everything was ready for the big day. During the wedding, she kept everyone on track and made sure the event ran smoothly. She was worth every penny. She helped my husband and I have an incredible day that we will always cherish.
When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. READ THIS IF YOU WANT EVERY WONDERFUL DETAIL!!!!!!!! I first got engaged in April of 2017 and am a physician in Virginia. My fiance and I were looking for a wedding planner who would be able to put together a wedding reception that looked like an outdoors starry night...but INSIDE a ballroom. I had heard of Mitch via a family friend and through some research....when he came to visit my mother and I for the first time, we were incredibly relieved. Before we had even officially hired him, he already went to work! On the FIRST day he met us, he already brought in ideas, venues, prices, and significantly reduced rates on everything he presented because of his extensive relationship with his vendors (he has been doing this for a very long time and I swear he knows everyone)! The take home point about Mitch is simple.....he will give you UNBELIEVABLE results at a price that you could not imaging possible. His artistic abilities are unmatched...he designed a candle lit forest for me INSIDE a boring ballroom and even changed the ceiling of the ballroom into a beautifully lit piece of art (circus ceiling style with crystal chandeliers levitating to the flowers on each table with floating orbs of candle lights). I come from a large Egyptian family and Mitch is very experienced in hiring specific vendors for YOUR specific wedding needs. Again, he is EXPERIENCED and is not new to the process. There are thousands of times where Mitch would handle situations and prevent stress from even coming to my mother and I. I CAN ACTUALLY SAY THAT I HAD A COMPLETELY STRESS FREE WEDDING AND REHEARSAL DINNER!!!!!!!!! And as for the wedding....everything went as planned EXACTLY...not one thing went wrong even though the old saying goes that you should prepare yourself for something....well....we actually had a perfect wedding. Mitch even surprised me with a firework entrance for my husband and I....this is how Mitch is...he is among the most kind and LOYAL people I know. If you want a wedding planner who will literally take away your stress and create a wedding above what you could ever imagine, Mitch is the one!!!! <3
We found Devoted to Your Event after having fire our previous planner. The difference between Tracy's service and our original planner was night and day. You couldn't ask for a more professional, organized or dedicated individual. Our wedding day was flawless. The special touches that she added received a lot of compliments. We didn't have to worry about anything other than enjoying our wedding day. I would most certainly hire and recommend Tracy, Devoted to Your Event, in the future.
Fairy Godmother Events is a godsend! Kadzo is highly professional and worked within my budget to plan the decorations and lighting for my "rustic-chic" barn wedding next April. Thanks to Kadzo's dedication, she was able to custom-build a decoration package that incorporated some of my own DIY elements, fit my tight budget, and offered day of wedding coordination and decorating services. Other event planning services just flat out told me that it was impossible to fit the budget that I had set aside, but FGE did what nobody else could. FGE truly goes above and beyond for their clients!

Amanda and Remembered Events planned my April 22 wedding. She was just perfect for what we needed. I didn't want to stress or do anything the week of my wedding.
