My son started training with Sensei Elliott in the club's previous location at the West Chester Y in April, 2009. After a few months, at Sensei Elliott's suggestion, I joined my son for a 3 month trial - even though I'd had no previous experience with martial arts. My son and I have both enjoyed training enough that we are still training almost 4 years later.
Sensei Elliott has more than 30 years of karate experience and is very patient with the students - especially the kids. The assistant instructors are also very skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced. We don't focus much on competition, but the level of skill that can be attained here is demonstrated by the fact that several students were national champions and highly ranked competitors in last year's ISKF national tournament (and previous years, too!).
In addition to karate excellence, Sensei Elliott's focus on family is also a big attraction. He trains with his own family and also encourages other parents, children, and siblings to train together. The kids also enjoy other occasional non-karate activities such as "fun days", holiday parties, and movie nights.
Finally, the six day per week class schedule is tremendously convenient for people with a busy schedule. We can train as many or as few days as we like and it's easy to fit a few workouts in, even with my busy work schedule and my son's other activities. Short of hiring a personal instructor, I seriously doubt if you can find this degree of scheduling flexibility anywhere else in the area.
