I have nothing but praises for Club Z. After completing the Request Info. online I had our Regional Director, Marian Cohen contact me within 8 hours. She readily answered all of my questions and we scheduled an at home consultation. This consultation consisted of her asking very specific questions about our child's learning style, concerns, class material and assignments, along with meeting our child and getting a feel for his personality in order to match a tutor. We agreed to proceed in committing to the program and signing a document allowing Club Z to meet with our child's teacher and act as a liaison to gather any helpful information to assist in our child's success. Meetings were set up and held with the teacher's and very valuable info. was gained. One of the teacher's was so impressed with the professionalism and the extent of involvement of Club Z that they asked me about my impressions so they could use it for their own children. Our tutor was selected and is a perfect match for our child. The Director even dropped off the materials she had gathered from the teachers to the tutor's house over the weekend to be reviewed prior to our first session. The tutor has arrived early each time and sits in our driveway until 5 minutes before our appt. to be sure each minute is utilized for direct instruction. The approach is not passive. He and Marian proactively gather info on upcoming assignments and curriculum to be certain they keep our child at the correct pace. I hear the tutor using "clear instructions, multiple tips, checking for understanding", while encouraging and teaching. Our son has already improved his grades. When I asked him how he feels about this service he said, "I'm getting it and he's a great tutor". I love how we (our child, teacher's, tutor and Marion) are working as a team to help one child. I have received follow up phone calls to inquire how things are going and to confirm all is well. Marian has established a wonderful working relationship with the teacher's that I finally feel as if I can relax and know we are in very capable hands.
Very attentive and patient. I feel so comfortable with her even when I am feeling anxious about math. I am having her help me pass a college placement test for math as an adult. She's great. Hire Michelle!
Leah was amazing with my daughter! She helped her prep for the math section of the SATs and we are excited to see how much her score goes up! Thank you Leah for all your help!
I participated in SAT tutoring and college prep with TEACH. It helped me in so many ways. I got into each & every college I wanted & am now attending my dream school, penn state.
My son is a dual sport athlete and finding available time to get his SAT prep in around a demanding schedule was near impossible till we found Allen. Allen worked around his schedule, between school and practices. He came to our house, was professional, prompt and cared about his success, not only on the SAT's but his school work. Allen offered to have him call should he have issue with his chemistry or Calculus homework. Allen showed him techniques that would assist in increasing his SAT score. He worked with my son about 3 or 4 sessions and he had an increase in his overall score of 210 points. I found Allen on Thumbtack and was a little skeptical and leary at first having someone come to our home, but Allens professionalism and results speak for themselves.
Christina worked great with my 12th grade son to prepare for ACT. She gave him good tips that made the work easy for him to understand. He will be utilizing her expertise throughout his senior year.
Michael provided college Calculus tutoring in person to my twins during the holiday Winter break, to prepare them to repeat Calculus in the Spring term, as they both struggled and failed when they were initially exposed to Calculus in college in the Fall. He will continue to be available remotely during the Spring to help them as needed while they are away in college. Michael was a fantastic tutor, and was very patient with them. My twins learned a lot from him, and he was able to identify some gaps in their knowledge. He simplified and clarified a lot of the basic concepts, and this should help tremendously as they are retaking Calculus in the Spring. I highly recommend him without any reservations.
This past spring 2016, Joohyun Kim was a math tutor for my 13 year old son. He loved her teaching style and quickly brushed up past skills and learned new ones in preparation for high school math placement test which he did very well on. I highly recommend Joohyun. She is professional, affordable, nice and knows how to teach! Bill Bradley, parent of Kai
Bryan is the best tutor I've ever used for my kids (for SSAT and SAT testing). He is a teacher who really understands the learning process. His ability to teach, target problem areas and explain concepts is outstanding. There was a significant improvement in the pre/post results for both my kids. Beyond standardized testing Bryan's subject knowledge (of many areas) is exceptional. He has patience and a manner that really makes kids want to learn. I attribute my kids' success to this trait, in that there was never any stress involved. I highly recommend his tutoring services.
He was an excellent tutor! Class A act. Lots of energy. Attempts to make lessons relatable and as fun as Algebra can be. Showed up on or before time, each lesson. He was very sweet and a wonderful teacher!!!
She was a great SAT/ACT tutor as well as mentor and friend. She helped me incredibly throughout the entire college application process and has since been a voice of reason in major academic decisions! Highly recommend.
My daughter worked with The Ivy Team for SAT Verbal prep. The Ivy Team provided us a great tutor who helped my daughter raise her Verbal score to near perfect! We are very pleased with our experience with The Ivy Team and would highly recommend them to anyone.
I will be the first to admit that I am not the world's best student, but I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person. It so happened that the subject of Linear Algebra was particularly problematic for me because none of my professors presented it in a way that left me with an understanding deep enough to take a test on it, let alone apply it in a real world scenario outside the bounds of a test problem. This was my third time through the course, and I did not relish the idea of going for a fourth round. I had been barely scraping by and my final exam loomed. I reached out to Dr. Karel and he spent an afternoon with me, going over the concepts that were eluding me. His clear explanations of the subject matter gave me the ability to link the missing pieces together! What was lacking in the previous presentations of the concepts became much clearer. I passed my final, and the class thanks to his help! Better still, I walked away not hating the subject which says a lot. I've since found actual applied practical uses for it since then, and I'm fairly certain that I would not have seen the opportunities to use what I learned without the deeper understanding I got out of that tutoring session.
Melissa was an awesome tutor. I had taken an SAT prep course but wasn't scoring high on practice tests- esp in math. She really understands the math and is very patient. I feel so much better and my practice scores are really good. I think I 'll do well on the real test.
John was a fantastic biology tutor for my high school junior who has ADHD. We've struggled to find a tutor who understood his needs and finally found a good fit with John. He was always very professional and my son loves him! I highly recommend him.
Over the past 4 years, Sarah Wright has tutored 2 of my children and myself in various areas of math ranging from math SAT prep to advanced graduate level Statistics and several areas in-between! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah's teaching abilities and her level of knowledge in all areas of math. She is truly gifted in tutoring under even the most challenging of circumstances. She is incredible at deciphering a students learning style and knowing how to approach teaching them to achieve the best result. Sarah's dedication, patience and knowledge are truly amazing. The results from sarahs tutoring are excellent and I highly recommend her.
Andrew was a great tutor for my GRE studies. He helped me comprehend concepts and really took the time to teach me in a way that I understood. If you struggle in math, then please consider Andrew as your tutor. I am horrible in math and he made math seem more clear and logical.
Mark was awesome to work with. He broke down the steps for me and made sure I had a good understanding of my statistics problems.
This tutor was extremely instrumental in helping me pass my precalculus course. I never was strong in math and this course originally presented itself as as a challenge that could potentially prevent me from meeting my degree requirements. The "Guru" was very patient with me as he guided me through homework and how to tackle difficult precalc equations on a step by step approach. My tutor was persisistent and assisted me with problems until he and myself was at a comfortable state and did not stop until he felt that I had a clear and strong grasp of the material. His prices were very reasonable and he accommodated my schedule as well as making sure we had a suitable location in my area for us to meet on a weekly basis. The end results was receiving an "A" in this course which would have never been attainable without his help. I am truly grateful for Mr. Prakash and I strongly reccomend this tutor to anyone who struggles with math and specifically precalc and calc as I continue to work with him as I persue my degree.

As a student who graduated near the top of his class in both high school and college, I certainly value the importance of education; however, just understanding the value of an education is not nearly enough to effectively help others. I have been through the trials and tribulations, the highs and lows of student life and have used that experience to tailor my tutoring philosophy. I realize every student is unique and requires a program specific to his/her needs and personalities, and I pride myself in being able to recognize these needs and effectively guide the student through his/her trouble areas while reinforcing his/her strong points. A well-rounded student is most effective, so I strive to build self-confidence while teaching unique and alternative ways of studying. I encourage students to utilize resources available to them that are often overlooked because of shyness or inexperience, such as professors and guidance counselors. Whether you need guidance at an elementary, high school or entry college level, I will set up a course plan, study guides, and homework that will help you not only understand the subject matter completely, but also make you confident in your abilities to test higher than you ever have previously! I have a quiet office setup in my home, or I am willing to travel to your home.
SAT and ACT test prep tutoring is done by a college communications professor with over 20 years of tutoring experience.
I am currently a college student who is studying English, Spanish and political science. I think that having been a high school student recently, I have a very good idea of what to expect from standardized testing and can prepare students using my own experience to guide me. Additionally, I am a very strong writer and enjoy editing papers, because everyone should be able to vocalize their thoughts and work in a way that is understandable and is going to be well received. By fixing the grammar or format of a piece of writing, you can transform it so that although the content stays the same, the message is clearer and the response is more gratifying.
