Introduction: I have been playing guitar for 34 years in many different genres of music (Rock, Metal, Acoustic) including pit orchestra work and have taught at Accent Music since 2007. I am currently giving lessons online via FaceTime and Zoom due to COVID. I am always committed to making sure students learn how to play and understand the guitar. Lessons include chords, theory, timing, solo work, and reading in a no pressure, laid back atmosphere to keep lessons not only educational, but fun for all ages.

Jason is awesome! My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Jason for a few years. He uses a combination of humor, flexibility and spontaneity to keep interest and motivation going. My daughter can’t imagine going to anyone else. He is so professional and has a real talent for teaching!

My son is 11 and has been taking guitar lessons from Jason for the last 4 years. My son Eric has really enjoyed his lessons as Jason tailored them specifically to my son from personal conversations to music selection. Eric is usually quiet and doesn't tell me much about his school day, but Eric is always talkative after lessons telling me what Jason and him talked about and what he learned that day. I would recommend Jason to anyone interested in learning to love guitar.

I met Jason when I was 59 yo. Jason made me feel comfortable. I quickly realized he was knowledgeable with the guitar, both playing and theory. He worked with an autistic student ahead of my time, and would comment some particular values this young girl had in music. Over all I found Jason Martz to be a very good teacher, knowledgeable in both playing and theory. I have recommended Jason to a few of my friends and would still recommend him.

Have been working with Jason for over a year and it has been really fun and fulfilling. Jason makes every effort to accommodate even the busiest schedules such as mine, and he is very patient and flexible in his approach to all abilities. Really value and appreciate the time and skill building that has occured and I'd highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn guitar from a pro.

I took lessons with Jason for a while and learned a lot. He is a great teacher and is good at explaining things while making lessons fun. The environment was fun and never stressful. I highly recommend him.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My fee is $30 per 1/2 hr once a week. Once you find a time/day for your lessons you will come at that time each week. You will pay for the month ($120) on the first day of your less per month. On months where your day has 5 weeks we still only do the first 4 weeks and I use the extra week for make up lessons for any students who might have missed a day during the month.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually within our first meeting I can determine a lesson plan tailored to the individual to help them get the most out of their lessons and ultimately to fully understanding and enjoying the guitar.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing, recording, and performing guitar for 33 years in many bands in many different genres along the way. I also took lessons early on for a few years when I first started out. After that I read books and really studied guitar. I also would ask as many questions as I possibly could with players more experienced than me until I got the answers I was looking for.
