FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A flat hourly rate is charged for interior design & consoltation services on projects. The possibility of a flat fee rate can be discussed depending on the size and type of project. A retainer is asked for up front that is equal to 20% of the clients total budget to cover interior design hours. Client is kept informed what retainer is applied to as the project progresses. If retainer is exceeded, additional hours needed are noted and invoiced. If the project is compleated before retainer is used then a refund of the difference can be requested by the client. *The retainer is for design hours only, it does not not cover the cost of any furniture, fixtures or Equipment (FF&E) Art, Tile, Window Coverings, accessories, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial conversations are generally via email when using thumbtack and then a phone call to get a more detailed information on project needs, time line, budget and location of project. Then a meeting is set and I travel to clients home or project location for a walk thru of space where we discuss all aspects of what is wanted and needed to get the interior design process started. I also can do Virtual consultations with clients to answer design questions, talk about FF&E (furnishings, fixtures & equipment), help with layouts etc. I can order furniture for client and have it drop shipped directly to them. I never mark up anything that I order for my clients and have them pay supplier directly from a Debit or Credit Card. I am happy to pass on any discounts I am able to secure when ordering with vendors who work with me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. degree in Interior Design and have been practicing since 2005. I am an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) I am currently working on obtaining my NCIDQ certification to become a professional licensed interior designer. I continue to educate myself thru seminars, trade shows and by taking courses and obtaining continuing education hours (CEU's). I love to travel and thru that I always gain knowledge by exploring new neighborhoods, stores, museums and areas of interest.
