Carla with Today's Investigation came to my rescue when I had a personal family estate matter that needed to be 'researched' while a certain family member was in town being sneaky after another family member passed away. Carla replied to my inquiry about hiring a PI within minutes. When you have never hired a PI before and don't really even know what you need, it was wonderful talking to Carla to better understand what details and information I needed to find out to strengthen my case and whether it was even possible! It is important if you are thinking about hiring any private investigator that you understand what they can legally do and what they are actually able to do. This is not like the movies. Be very clear about your expectations up front before you sign off on the contract, find out how many hours she anticipates needing, that you both agree on the objective and methods, and ask about what the most important 'tasks' are for her to investigate if you are short on budget. Communication is key. Keep in mind that Carla is not going to chase people down with a trench coat and detective hat like in the movies. Once Carla committed to my case, she was on it for several days until I had the surveillance (both pictures and videos) that I needed to strengthen my case. She texted and called me regularly throughout those days and we decided when we had enough information to end the surveillance and the case. She was very valuable to me in a time of great need and urgency. Reach out to her if you have any doubts about her capabilities. I think you will get a better idea of her abilities and personality once you get on a phone call with her. She was quick to respond to me!

This was the first time I've ever used an investigator, of any kind, to help me in sorting through things that I need to know answers about. This is a different world than the one I grew up in, and I find that I am not able to trust many. Anyway, I needed to have some surveillance done on a person who lived in a state 1700 miles from where I reside. The way I saw it, I had two options. They were to either purchase expensive air fare, put everything on hold and take 3 days out from my busy schedule to fly to an unfamiliar place, rent a car and try to do my own surveillance, which I know nothing about, or......go to Google and look up a professional investigator, who could do the work for me. Well, the choice was obvious. Being new to this type of thing, I wasn't sure how things would go, much less if I would even be able to find someone who could go to work for me right away, as that was crucial. Enter stage Right.. Carla, w/Today's Investigations. After speaking with Carla and feeling comfortable with her and her services, a deal was struck. At that point, I simply had to fill out a few forms, detailing the information she would need to locate the individual in question, as well as filling out and signing the contract we had agreed upon. After that was complete, Carla went right to work. Within an hour and a half, Carla had located the vehicle and the person, and was sending me pictures for purposes of verification, as well as to show me she was Hot on the Trail. I continued to receive text messages, together with more pics, throughout the day. Although I probably had enough information at that point, I decided to keep Carla on the job and so she picked up her surveillance the following morning. A few hours later I now knew I had enough information and thanked Carla for the quick, thorough and private work she had done for me. I told her I was happy(in some ways, the ways I needed to know) and would get back to her should I ever need her services again. I was very impressed with Carla's quick response and delivery of the information I hired her to obtain for me. The amount I was charged was not only fair but actually low for industry standards and extremely low for what it would have cost me had I been foolish enough to attempt doing the work on my own. I can not state strongly enough how happy I was with Carla and the quick results she provided. You can not go wrong calling Today's Investigations and asking to speak with Carla. I want to say this was the best decision made by hiring Carla Engle of Today’s Investigation. Very quickly after talking to her she made me feel at ease. Being a woman also helped take some of the anxiety away. She provided support unbeknownst to her with her quiet laughter and great sense of humor. I am very happy with Carla’s work. I have 32 years in law enforcement as an FBI Agent and Police Officer. I had run out of leads in Kentucky and contacted her. I needed boots on the ground. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat hourly rate. I do not charge for drive time or mileage.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A free consultation is provided. A contract is then sent to the client via docusign. A request for the retainer fee is sent via PayPal. The investigator and client work closely together throughout the investigation.
