"I worked with Bonnie in preparation for my undergraduate degree. She was excellent in working with me and helping me to prepare scales and etudes as a clarinetists. Additionally, she was excellent in preparing me for the piano skills I would need as a Music Major. Even more than technique and scales, I felt she worked closely with me to always make as much music as possible in each exercise, etude, solo work, or chamber music piece. Furthermore, I also recommend her because she is a wonderful, thoughtful, and kind person. --Dr. Jessica Lindsey, Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. September, 2015. "

"I specialize in pre-school lessons and piano for beginners through intermediate level students. For the younger beginner, I teach fun, innovative, and relaxed group lessons that are anything but boring and give a fully rounded piano education. We work at the piano and off the bench using games and other manipulatives that will help solidify the students understanding. For transfer students, teen, and adults, I offer 45 minute solo/individual lessons, where we work solely one -on - one. Each lesson is tailored to your needs and taught in a fun, relaxed manner. Morning times are available for adults and homeschool students. I teach theory, sight-reading, reading music notation, lead sheets, basic composition and aural training. Each student learns differently and I adapt lessons to fit the student and their individual needs. Piano lessons are not a one size fits all and I find what works for each student. I am experienced with teaching children who have ADD/ADHD, ASD, as well as anxiety disorders and help them to not only be successful in their endeavors to play music but to grow in self confidence and self esteem. I love helping the student develop and hone their talents. The studio motto is "Together We Can Do Hard Things". I honestly believe that with the right attitude and help, anyone can play the piano. We will work together to meet your piano goals."
