My husband and I could not have chosen a better photographer/videographer than we did when choosing Donte. From confirmed what we wanted, signing the contracts, payments and communication he was flawless. Everything was made easy and done efficiently. In the days leading up to our wedding, he reconfirmed all of our selections and answered any additional questions. On the day of event- he was professional, courteous and a pleasure to have at our event. He took every shot requested and did so in an upbeat manner that let us know we weren't just a "job"but he cared about us and the quality of his work. My husband and I would recommend using him for any and all special events if you want an affordable professional photographer with outstanding quality work and kindness.

Paul is an expert in videography. I have a fairly large project that is quite complex and he was able to figure out how to connect all of the dots. His prices are extremely reasonable, he's responsive, creative and is an excellent person to work with on projects. I will be hiring him for more video work, real estate photography, web design and to configure audio and video for a project I'm working on. I'm so glad I've found my go to guy for everything techie. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed!

Brides or anyone needing videographers for an event...PLEASE READ! They are more than outstanding...they are exceptionally talented, creative and all around great guys to work with. You'll regret going with a cheaper package/option or one that only comes with 1 videographer. Trust me on this! I'd give them waaay more stars if they allowed me to!

Dwain did an awesome job with our video! This was our first corporate video and we came with a concept of what we wanted and he guided us through the entire process. He remained very flexible and patient with our team from concept and through the revision process. He worked on our video until it was exactly what we were looking for. If you are looking for a videographer, we highly recommend Dwain!

I am so happy with my decision to go with Dele Rockson Media to record the beautiful memories of our special day. From the first email inquiry to receiving the review video, every correspondence was prompt and professional. I knew from our face to face meeting that I had made the right decision. Dele was lighthearted, funny, and family oriented, all important factors that influenced my choice in booking him for our wedding. He was prompt and personable and meshed well with all my guests. When I finally received the initial review video, I became so emotional watching it. He did such a great job with the coverage and blending the music. I highly recommend Dele Rockson Media Wedding Videography to be your wedding day videographers. You won't regret it !

Despite the rain and having a small venue to work with, The videographer did a great job with his 3 camera set-up and with recording key elements of my sister's wedding. I loved that the coordinator (My sister) did not have to specify exactly what needed to be recorded at the wedding ... especially since this was a wedding for the hearing impaired. My sister, my family and I truly appreciate the videographer (Anthony) for making extra copies of our dvd's without cost and for making my sister's wedding a memorable one since this was a last minute decision. Thanks :)

We have worked with Mark and Lisa for many years on many projects. They have always exceeded our video production expectations. It's very nice to work with such a quality wedding videographer company in Orlando. Attention to detail is impeccable. Doing business with them has been a true honor. If you are looking for someone with high integrity and generally happy people, look no further than these folks.

Our wedding video from H2Brasil was absolutely perfect. The video was so professionally crafted, it seemed like a Hollywood production! Throughout the entire process, their staff of videographers was attentive, responsive to our requests, and they looked for memorable elements to make our video extra special. H2Brasil combined the perfect combination of music, quality video, voice and visual effects, and we were proud to share our wedding video with friends and family. The way they overlaid parts of the video with our voices and "interviews" with our guests was so impressive. What's more--some friends asked to see it again! Have you ever asked to watch another couple's wedding video AGAIN?? Every single person who saw our video was overwhelmed with how professional the film was made. We highly recommend H2 Brasil.

Bravo! I am so thrilled we were blessed with such a talented and top notch videographer. Josh and his staff are incredible artists who were able to capture everything we wanted from stage to camera in our production. Just by the depth of professionalism in our conversations, I knew we had chosen the right videographer, but I had no idea the end product would be so amazing! All who bought DVDs were blown away! The only mystery was how we received such high-quality for such a reasonable rate. I would recommend Three Kings to everyone I know and will be using Josh and his team for all my future videography and photography needs.

One of my best friends decided to get married in Disney. Her and her husband couldn't afford the videographer with all of the other expenses so myself and 2 of the other bridesmaids decided to try and get them one for a wedding gift. Being we are from NY and NJ, we had no idea how to get someone from Florida. I came across Thumbtack and within a few days booked Everton. Being how nervous I get about everything I had no idea if he would show up since I didn't know him at all outside of here. Turns out he was there before the groom even got to the ceremony. I told Everton how happy I was when I met him because you never know what will happen over the internet. At the reception the DJ couldn't even lead us in the Cha Cha dance so Everton soon became our entertainer too. Thanks again for that because you got everyone on the dance floor. At the end of the evening, the girls and I paid him in cash since we live in different states. We knew we should probably send a check later with all of the horror stories you hear but we figured he showed up so it can't hurt. Once again, Everton came through with a beautiful video. He captured all of the most treasured moments of my friend's wedding and compiled them in a beautiful, breath taking video. Everton saved the day. With his reasonable price and beautiful work I would definitely hire him again. Thanks for everything Everton....And for dealing with me :)

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
