- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually: Once talking at length about the clients needs and goals via phone we agree to work together. ***SEE COVID-19- UPDATE IN INTRO During the first appointment/session I like to meet for around 1 1/2 hours. We spend the first 15-20 minutes chatting, getting health history, etc. in writing. If Dr's release is required it would be sent to the client in advance. If weight loss is a goal, In the first meeting we would also do body composition measurements, Bp,perhaps some fitness tests, etc. depending on the programming. And then we'd workout too. Depending on the results of the first workout: loss of pain, muscle soreness, etc. we will adjust our plan slightly moving forward and in the weeks following.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every 2 years all trainers are required to re-certify. There are a certain number of hours required. Every year I take more than the required amount to gain more knowledge in a related aspect. For example: rather than just an aquatic therapy certification I might take an additional aquatic for spine course. This year I will be an official "Certified Speed and Agility Coach". I also am a Human and Dog conditioning specialist, have certifications in Aquatics,Pilates, Spinning, Limited Range of Motion Exercise, Total Body resistance (TRX), functional Fitness, and a B.A. and Paramedic degree.
