Gary was an excellent tutor/ mentor to my son Nick. My son is an introvert and Gary knew how to connect with him to motivate him and convince him to believe in himself. He helped him in math and other subjects while prepping for his SAT with a very short window of time. Very punctual, professional and knowledgeable above all. Flexible as well. Worth every penny and then some! Highly recommend.

Dr. Dubler is a skilled tutor that knows that taking the SAT is similar to activities like sports, dance and theater; there are many factors that influence someones performance. Dr. Dubler not only shares his passion for setting students up for PSAT and SAT test taking; but he provides applicable hints for students to think about in advance, such as: what to eat the week before the test, and many other tricks to the trade of successful test taking. He will arrive promptly and professionally and will assign homework in between his sessions and encourages his students to do what they can do, with the reality they have their normal extracurricular activities and homework to attend to. His longevity in this field speaks for his abilities to be committed to his passion for SAT tutoring. Dr. Dubler is very experienced and highly educated. He is an excellent match for students who do not mind being asked to explain their train of thought, as his expectation is a high level of interaction. This is one way he reinforces what he is teaching. He is also full on fun magic tricks along the way, which will certainly keep things as he likes them entertaining.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It generally takes 8 2-hour sessions to prepare, Our one-on-one tutoring IS expensive; $150 per session [although one competitor charges $240 per session and all national companies charge $65 per HALF hour. Students actually do better [and pay less] with group sessions. The more students in a group, the less each student pays. If there are 9 or more students, the original student whose home we use gets his/her tutoring for FREE!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Even though I have been preparing students for the SAT for 30 years, I read all the new research & material every year. Just a month ago, Time Magazine labeled the SAT as a "Fraud & a Hoax." Strong words, but true. The test does not give students a fair chance to do well without knowing the Strategy.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always knew I was "test-smart;" I just didn't know why. It was during my graduate studies that I discovered the elements that allow some people to test well, and others to test poorly.
