Great into into puppy training. I really liked learning a scientific, consistent approach to training that was full of FUN for us and the puppy. Andy was terrific, very patient and adaptable . He treated my 8 year-old granddaughter with the same respect and attention as the adult dog owners A+!Aug 6, 2015VerifiedGood CitiZEN Dog Training's reply

Andy was excellent and our family really liked onsite one on one training with our dog. We are on our way to a well behaved dog. :) Looking forward to joing the group lessons soon. Highly recommend Andy's help to anyone struggling with doggy behavioural issues.Oct 5, 2015VerifiedGood CitiZEN Dog Training's reply

Dog Training - Group Lessons
Andy gives great insight into how a dog thinks, and how to deal with behavioral issues by getting on the dog's level. This approach makes a lot of sense... if you're dealing with a German speaker, you're not going to use French to communicate! Teaching owners dogspeak equips us to more effectively communicate to our dogs what is acceptable behavior and what isn't. The methods he's taught me are now going to allow me to keep working my dog in a really effective manner even after the course is over! Andy is an outstanding trainer!Jul 26, 2015VerifiedGood CitiZEN Dog Training's reply
Thank you very much for the wonderful feedback, Andrija! We are so happy that you are having success with Isley, and look forward to continued work with you.
My rescued dog that I have had 3 years who has her canine good citizen and agility titles, changed to a destructive dog with separation anxiety when we moved. With 1 lesson we not only have the tools to correct the anxiety issue. Also addressed some other behavior items we need refined. The method was fun and my dog enjoyed the learning, it was not fear based which others. trainers suggested.Dec 17, 2014VerifiedGood CitiZEN Dog Training's reply
Thank you for your kind and positive words Stephanie.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Andy and his dog (owner) training! We noticed a difference in our puppy's behavior in the first week! Andy does a fantastic job of explaining the theory behind all the commands and works with you to make sure you know what to do at home to practice the skills. This was more than well worth the modest cost of the training!Mar 15, 2015VerifiedGood CitiZEN Dog Training's reply
Thank you very much for the feedback Linda. It is very much appreciated. It is a pleasure working with you and Casper.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our initial consultation is anywhere from $125 - 150 based on distance we have to travel and the time involved. Once we complete the initial consultation we will price the service based on the number of sessions required to meet your goals. Some issues or behavior problems can be fixed in one session. Other issues will take multiple sessions. The more sessions you do, the lower the price per session. This will all be explained completely in a phone conversation (which we highly recommend) prior to our first training session. During the phone conversation, we will gather information about your training goals and answer any and all questions you might have. We are generous with our time. Our Board & Train service is priced based on the amount of time ranging anywhere from 1 week to 4 or even 5 weeks. The longer the training, the less expensive it is. We give price breaks for longer commitments of time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We thoroughly enjoy working with our clients. Our hallmark is that we work equally well with dogs and with their owners. It takes skill and a great deal of patience to be able to train people and their dogs at the same time. We patiently explain what we are doing each step of the way so our client can replicate our techniques in between training sessions. We also do group classes and those of tons of fun.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We have been trained by the owner of the company who is a protege of Jean Donaldson, who taught the Canine Training Academy at the San Francisco SPCA. We are all extremely experienced dog trainers and handlers and have a deep education in the science of canine behavior, using behavior modification to train dogs.
