The job was a simple remove existing light fixture, assemble new fixture and hang new fixture. I was quoted an estimate of $120.00, but expected to pay a little more for the time to assemble the new fixture. However, even though I approved and signed off on the total charges of a WHOPPING $279.00 before the electrician started, I was appalled at the final charge and furious with myself for going through with the job. How could this company justify charging me $159 for assembling a fixture.......one that the guy didn't even need or read instructions for? When I questioned him, He said " they're all the same....I don't need instructions". He did a good job.....was here about 1-1/2 hour total, but I am very disappointed being taken in by that very high cost of $279 to assemble and hang a new fixture, especially after an initial estimate of $120.00. More importantly, I will never use Luminous again, nor will I recommend them. I wont be stupid twice.

Carol, I apologize for the disappointment you feel for using our services. It is always our goal to have our clients thrilled at the services we provide. It seems that you approved the cost before we started the job and after the job was completed you were dissatisfied with the cost. According to our records the electrician was at your home for over two hours and this of course does not include travel time. The technician did not have to read the instructions due to his level of experience and I would think this is what you and every other client of ours would desire in a electrician in their home. Once again I apologize that the cost of the installation of the chandelier was greater than the value you place on having it installed. We will continue to do our best to keep our cost as low as we can and the level of service as high as we can. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

The first electrician I hired from thumbtack didn't show up yesterday so I called Luminous Electric and they got me on their schedule immediately. The guys who came by were prompt and professional and finished all the jobs I had and for them and are coming back today to do a few more things. Wish I had called Luminous the first time around and not waited a whole week for a no-show other guy. I will be using Luminous from now on!
