Introduction: Both music and entertainment have been my business and my passion for more than 25 years now. I owned the largest DJ and entertainment company in northern California for 20 years and trained many of Sacramento's finest wedding and event DJ/MC's. As an entertainment specialist, I have served as DJ/MC and on-site coordinator for literally thousands of weddings, corporate events and private parties. I have been a full-time wedding entertainment specialist since 1991. As your wedding DJ, I serve as your DJ/MC and your on-site coordinator for the reception. This means you can relax and enjoy your family and friends and leave all the details to me. I have a massive music library and will certainly have all the music you are looking for. My music is updated weekly. I offer online planning tools and music selection for your convenience. I am also a world-class singer/entertainer and have traveled around the world singing classic hits from nearly every musical genre. I offer this service at weddings and events as a special and unique option, but only upon request of my clients. Bill provided music and live performance at my wedding on June 21, 2014. He is an amazing entertainer and I would highly recommend him. He had the dance floor packed 100% of the time, ensuring everyone had the best time possible.

Bill did an outstanding job! He had a great collection of dance music selections of which he sang with the music. Many of our guests raved about his singing abilities; they wanted to know how we got such a tallented entertainer. I had given him an idea of the type of music we wanted and he correagraphed it perfectly. If you want a good bang for the buck and somebody you will be happy with for a special event, Bill Pence is your go-to-guy; we will definitely use him again and reccomend him to anybody.

Bill was our D.J for our Son's wedding. I must say i was extremely impressed. We had a variety of ages and he managed to entertain them all. He made the wedding special, not only entertained by music but wedding games. He was truly amazing and personable. I highly recommend him for any event, he also has an amazing voice, most of the guest did not realize he was singing, he sounded so much like the actual singer. We hired Bill as the DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception, and he did an outstanding job! His communication was very thorough prior to the event and he made sure he had all the info before hand so the day of went very smoothly. Our ceremony needed a small speaker but had no power available, and Bill provided the perfect setup for us. He arrived early at the event and was setup and ready to go with absolutely no fuss or hand holding, it was great that we didn't have to check in with him constantly. We didn't really have a clear idea of what we wanted for our reception, just wanted it to be fun, and Bill nailed it. He's got a good form you fill out with suggestions and music lists, very easy to use. He really got what we wanted and the party was a blast. He had a diverse selection of music and really kept the party going. We would highly recommend Bill, the most important thing for us was that he just took care of everything so we could have a good time. Couldn't have asked for a better experience with a DJ! PS the live singing option is very cool too! He's careful not to turn the event into a concert and distract from the celebration, and it brings some extra entertainment when people notice he's singing live!

My husband and I searched for an affordable DJ/MC for our wedding and after reading tons of raving reviews about Bill Pence music on different websites, we contacted Bill and he responded very quickly to all of our questions and wrote up a quote for us based on our needs and budget. We went ahead and booked him for our wedding and were able to build entire playlists , event timeline , do not play lists and tons of other fun tools on his website to personalize the music at our wedding. Bill periodically checked in with us through the months up to our wedding ensuring that we have everything we need and talked on the phone with us a week before the wedding to go over everything. The day of he arrived early to set up for the ceremony and kept the guests entertained at our reception while we took pictures. Bill also performs songs live if you so choose which I would highly recommend .. He is a wonderful singer and it really does add to the magic of the day. We got tons of compliments on his singing and just his awesome attitude through the whole day. He really does pay attention to the needs of the crowd too by playing fun songs (songs that I didn't think to add) to get people on the dance floor. You would be surprised the difference someone like Bill makes to the overall organization and entertainment of the day. My favorite thing about it all is that I didn't have to worry about staying on time for the different events (first dance , cake cutting , speeches etc..) Bill completely facilitated these events by making fun announcements and gauging the needs of the party. Overall an amazing experience ... If you are on the fence about whether you need a DJ I would encourage anyone who can do it to go for it because it makes a serious difference for the ceremony and reception. Bill got me and my husband on the dance floor (we usually don't dance) with his fun personality and we even had some guests want to take pics with him :) We really couldn't have done it without him.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to keep things very simple. My pricing is very straightforward and there are never any hidden fees or surprises. My goal is to give my clients exactly what they want at the lowest possible cost. I never charge for my set up or tear down time. I offer custom packages to each of my clients so that you receive and pay for only what you need and want. When I put together a package, I offer lots of discounts and even some free stuff! The larger the package, the bigger the discount! I also offer significant discounts for off-peak weddings and events.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once I receive an inquiry, I respond immediately via email in order to answer any questions they may have. I also send a link to my wedding or event questionnaire and encourage them to fill it out as completely as possible. Once I receive the necessary information, I email them an event proposal and a link to my online planning tools. I am always available to answer any questions and make any changes to the proposal to make sure it is exactly what is desired. In order to book my services the client simply signs and returns the event proposal with the required deposit (usually $100).Then the planning process begins and I am always available to work with each and every client as their event and entertainment professional.

Music and entertainment have been my full-time profession since 1991. I have served as DJ/MC and entertainment specialist at literally thousands of weddings, corporate events and private parties. I have traveled throughout California and all across the United States to share my skill and expertise as a professional entertainment specialist. I have been a featured speaker at numerous DJ conventions and I personally trained many of the Sacramento areas finest DJs. At last count there are at least six full-time DJ companies in Sacramento whose owners were trained by and works for me at some point. Music and entertainment are my passion and my business.
