Carolina was very sweet with my son for his 1st tutoring session. He was shy at first but I saw how she eased him into doing the work she had planned for him. She gave me good feedback on what my son will need in order to get him ready for the upcoming school year. I am glad we made the decision to go with her and look forward to having her help my child succeed over the summer.
My daughter was doing well academically, but I was concerned about standardized test scores and poor reading fluency. After just a few sessions with Smart Cookie tutoring her scores have gone up and her reading is much improved! The independently tailored and structured reading curriculum provided by Smart Cookie has helped my daughter make great gains. Most importantly my daughter looks forward to her sessions!
It's been outstanding, great person, and very good teacher. I really hope to continue receiving his support in order to improve my speech. Right now, I feel more comfortable and safe by my self.

I am a recent MD graduate offering tutoring services in the time until I begin residency training in neurosurgery. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I guarantee improvement in performance.
I am a retired teacher. I've taught pre-k, k, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. I tutored a fifth grader who was failing math and reading and in danger of failing her grade in 2013-2014. She ended the grading period with a B in math and an A in reading. I tutored her at one of the local libraries. We worked very hard. During the time of the tutoring, I was working with the Americorp National Service Corporation. I was in a second-grade classroom. When we started, the class of 18 had six children progressing towards third grade. At the end of the school year, only eight children repeated second. I am now working as an interventionist at the same school this year. On the last unit, weekly assessment a large amount of the students received 100%. Tutoring gives me the ability to be creative in approaching criteria that needs to be obtained. My years of experience have equipped me to find different ways in tackling skills and making learning fun. One student said, "Dr. McZeal, you make it fun." Some students cheer when I walk in the classroom. One student asked me to return to the school next year. I didn't work with her this year. She was in the number that was slated to repeat second. She is now in third. The work there is challenging and rewarding at the same time.
