What a great experience I had using This Company. I called for a estimate they were here in the pouring rain to do that. I hired the team and not only did I receive a honest price. They were at my house the same day and got the job done. They worked all afternoon and did a AAAA job. They cleaned up and left my house perfect. I highly recommend Mike and his son. What a excellent experience. They also do AC work and if needed they will be called. Again. If you need their service choose this team of experts

First, Jhon was very competitive in his price, accommodating to my schedule, and far exceeded what I thought the ceiling could be. I enjoyed working with Jhon and his team. By far exceeded my expectations. I had a house was smoke damaged from years of cigarette smoke. Jhon was able to remove the popcorn ceiling, fix the weak spots in the house, skim coat the ceiling and painted. The house smells new, looks incredible, and I was able to hang ceiling fans. Jhon was very professional, made certain to remove his waste and clean at the end of each visit. I could not have imagined a better contractor to work with. This is going to be my residence for at least ten years, and Jhon was instrumental in making my house into a home for my family. Thank you to Jhon and his team. I'm glad everyday I come home. I will hire you again for the next project.

All In 1 Handyman took less than two weeks to re-model a small office space at our building. Some of the job included putting up walls, creating a storage closet, putting up an additional wall to extend our hallway, installing laminate flooring throughout the 2nd floor, installing doors, installing moldings, painting, etc. The work is of good quality & the price was reasonable. It was done on time & they had lots of ideas to help us get exactly what we needed. All In 1 Handyman is easy to work with & always kept us on a constant update with billing & materials. Thank you!

We hired John and his team to come do a small bathroom and kitchen remodel for our home in Miami Shores. They were very patient with us as we went through the building and permitting process, dealing with the city, guided us through all the inspections and various changes we wanted to make last minute. We were very please with the results and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. We actually called them back to come install our new fence not to long ago and john and his men did a great job. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I hired SJP Construction to give our home a standard clean before summer guests came. Two cleaners arrived within a few days of contacting them. I gave them specific instructions and then left to get a few things. When I came home and put away the groceries the fridge was crumbless and no longer sticky from kid spills. I was so relieved. The ladies made everything fresh smelling, clean, and organized. They even did a few extras at no charge because we are first time customers. I will hire again since it was not very expensive and the quality of clean was beyond what I asked for.

We performed a major interior renovation - full kitchen, bath, floors, laundry room, front door - to our home in Miami over a 6-month time frame. The company's work was exceptional. Ariel worked closely with us throughout the outset of the project. He brought new ideas that really helped us realize our vision. His crew (in particular Neri) showed up every day, on time, and completed the job in a timely manner. They were very accommodating despite a few surprises in electrical and plumbing, working overtime to meet the project timelines. We're so happy with our home and there's not one thing we would change. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ariel and crew without hesitation for a renovation or new home build.

We were very fortunate to find Landmar Development & Consulting, Inc. when searching for opportunities to add to our financial portfolio. Landmar found two homes for us in Wellington Florida that we purchased. The Company represented us in closing and then renovated both houses each time in less than 2 months. If that was not remarkably fast enough, both homes rented in the same week they went on the market after renovations. Each house was custom designed by Landmar; complete renovation of kitchen including cabinets and appliances; master bedroom and bathroom updated, flooring included; landscape changes beautifully done. Anything in the homes that needed to be fixed, changed or redone to reach our goal of renting to a family and obtaining a worthwhile return was also Landmar Development Consulting's goal. We also were very impressed with their knowledge of not only the market but contacts they had for supplying of materials and products used in the renovation. Landmar went far beyond even our usual high expectation from any company. Business ethics outstanding so do not miss the opportunity to work with them and you will also obtain your real estate goals. It's not often you can find this level of professionalism and quality with the attentiveness to be on the call ready to hear me out for the smallest of details. I hired MIDI to build a deck and a brick grill in my backyard and despite my extreme level of pickiness and flip flopping of ideas, MIDI was always ready to pick up the phone or respond to an email to hear me out. It was an all around wonderful experience and worth every penny. I WILL be contacting MIDI for all of my future projects in my home and office.

George is a very unusual handiman and man-of-many-talents. He SHOWS UP! And he is on time! And he will do what you ask him, and if you are not satisfied - he will redo and correct until you are. He is also creative and has very good ideas for home decorating - a great sense of color and design. George has removed popcorn ceilings, painted, built patios, installed ceiling lighting, installed chair railings, painted garage floors and driveways, built docks - not only for us, but for many friends and neighbors. Always willing to help - going beyond the jobs themselves - and positive, a good listener, and a very hard worker. George does not pretend to be an expert at everything, but he is intelligent and willing to learn what it takes to do jobs he has never done before. It would be very hard, if not impossible, to find anyone with a better attitude and work ethic. He completed all jobs within the time frame he had calculated, and no job is ever done until customers are satisfied.

I have been doing construction since 1985, doing all types of projects I like meeting new people and dealing with them from start to finish they don't talk to a salesman and then have a different installer come and do something that they didn't want. They talk to me from start to finish.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

          How do architects work?

Architects may work for an architecture or engineering firm, they may work for a government organization, they can work for a construction company, or they may be self-employed (freelance). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics explains that architects spend a large amount of their working time in the home or company office: meeting with clients; creating reports and architectural drawings; and working with other architects and engineers. When not in an office, an architect is often at the construction site either as part of the development of plans or to ensure building progress is following the blueprint.

When a client interacts with an architect, it is typically to have them design drawings for the construction of a house or a building. If you are a client who has hired a large architecture firm, there may be a team of people working on your design. But if you are working with a freelance architect or a smaller firm, one person (or a small group) will take your concept and translate it into an architectural blueprint that a builder can use to construct a house. The plans will lay out everything from the depth of the foundation to the materials to use to the type of metal to be used in the reinforcement. Once the plans have been created and handed off to the builder, the architect may remain on the project — depending on budget — and oversee progress.

How do architects charge for their services?

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the median salary of an architect in 2016 was $76,930. This range included architects with every type of company as well as self-employed architects. Depending on the architect and whether they’re with a firm or independent, they may charge per hour or by the square foot, or they may charge a percentage of the total budget for a construction project. An hourly rate is typically used for smaller projects such as providing consultation, helping clients hone their concept before the design process begins, or drafting documents and plans. If an architect is working on an hourly basis on a larger project, there will usually be an agreed-upon cap on the number of hours they will work. For larger projects, such as new construction or total overhaul remodels, architects may charge a percentage of the total construction costs. The architect will usually set the percentage you will pay after the total cost of construction has been accounted for. Percentages can range within a firm depending on the extent of the services they’re providing. For example, a lower percentage of the total construction costs may include drafting and minimal consultation and guidance along the way, while a higher percentage could include on-site project management services with every detail attended to. Architects may also charge by the square footage of the project. The rate per square foot can vary depending on the individual’s training, the services they are providing, the complexity of the project, and other factors — such as obtaining permits. The national average cost to hire an architect is between $1,690 and $2,500.
